Exactly what you'd expect from this author. It has an air of truth about it, but is certainly no boring documentary. Great read as usual.

Kept me on the edge of my seat throughout and im not that much of a fiction reader. Brilliantly written and would recommend to anyone interested in the SAS/Armed Forces as this will be right up your street!

If you have enjoyed Chris Ryan or Andy McNab books in the past, I am sure you will enjoy this.

The plot is fairly standard stuff, former SAS soldier hunts down evil terrorist who is about to wreak havoc on London.

There are plenty of twists and turns in the plot and the book shows that not all baddies are as bad as them seem.

The book is very readable and a great page turner. I think it took me a couple of days to read and I found myself picking it up whenever I could.

Why only 4 stars rather than 5? It is very samey compared with the previous books and I didn't have that sense of sadness that I have when I finish an excellent book.

Some of Ryan's other books have suffered from rather 2 dimensional characters & perceptions, but not this one. While it is of course a great action bok, it doesn't rely on action to keep the reader hooked. Loved it.

Having read several, but not all, of Chris Ryan's novels before, this is probably the best of them that I have read so far. Written in his usual sparse style, where not a word is wasted, I think it has a good plot, believable characters, plenty of action and enough twists to keep one guessing. The story moves at a good pace and I found the book difficult to put down. Perhaps my only adverse comment would be that it was rather a weak ending, but this criticism did not extend to my docking a star from the rating.

Format: Paperback
A fairly typical Chris Ryan book, the usual action scenes and lots of quite satisfying twists and turns in the plot which served to elevate it above the norm for this type of novel.
I am aware that some of Chris Ryan's books have been ghostwritten in the past, because I'm acquainted with one of the authors who was involved, and I am slightly wondering who actually wrote this one, because there are one or two somewhat unusual errors in the text which suggest that the writer was not anything like as familiar with weapons and tactics as a former SAS soldier should certainly be. The most glaring of these occurs early in the book when somebody releases the safety catch on a Glock pistol. This is tricky, because the Glock does not possess a safety catch, or at least not one of the type described, and anybody in the military who has ever handled one of these weapons should know that.
But these niggles aside, it's a decent read.

This is the best Ryan book to date.
It is a most compelling read with enough twists in the plot to keep on reading well into the wee hours. By the time you're done reading and put down the book, I came to realise that the bottom line story in this book could well have happened.
