|LED Display Technology: LED (light-emitting diode) TVs are actually a type of LCD TV. LCD HDTVs use standard compact fluorescent tubes to illuminate the picture. LED HDTVs, on the other hand, replace those fluorescent tubes with backlighting technology. LED TVs might therefore say "LCD display" on the packaging--this is perfectly normal. In general - more like 4/5
The image quality is very sharp - as expected of a 1080p panel. Very bright too - i have it set up right opposite my window and its clearly visible. The bezels are small, and there is no buttons visible at the front. Instead you get a little volume switch on the side - you can press it down to turn the TV on/off or flick it up/down to change the volume.
I tried it with a 360, PS3, PC(via hdmi) and a virgin media tv box. Works perfectly for CASUAL gaming - there is a noticeable delay compared to a 60hz TN panel while gaming with mouse+keyboard. But as long as you dont play competitive counter strike or another precision shooter you should be fine. After all TVs arent made for PC gaming - monitors are.
The sound is a bit muffled while listening to studio quality music at high volumes from a high end sound card but while gaming on the PS3/360 it was perfectly fine. It was also perfectly fine while watching movies although i would recommend external speakers for audiophiles.
The USB port is nice, but for some reason doesnt play .avi files for me from a FAT32 usb stick - pretty much the standard. Not a problem for me as i dont use it anyway but something to keep in mind.
The main menu is your standard gray theme which comes with most cheap HDTVs - no smart features. Again - not a problem as i have it hooked up to a PC as a secondary screen.
The cable isnt the longest - about 1m or so, it comes with batteries for the remote, comes well packaged.
Overall - its a great purchase!
