HASH(0x90829bf4) out of 5 stars Colonel Sanders: A Highly Entertaining & Thoughtful One Man Play 9 April 2016
By An Amazon Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I am a fan of live theater, especially one man (or woman) shows. Essentially, an actor gets to “become” someone else for an hour or so and have a conversation with the audience. It is, as if, Mark Twain or another famous person has come to life again.

Well to my surprise, I can now add Colonel Sanders to that list. Like most people, I did not know anything more about the Colonel than being spokesperson for KFC. Frankly, I wasn’t even 100% sure he was real. This play quickly sets the record straight. Colonel Sanders was a 100% real and genuine Kentucky treasure!

Before finding his true calling late in life, Colonel Sanders was a railroad worker, an ambulance chasing attorney, an insurance agent, and a tire salesman! His next job as a gas station manager put him on the course of cooking and running a restaurant. How he perfected his Kentucky Fried Chicken using a pressure cooker and a secret combination of spices was absolutely fascinating!

Colonel Sanders telling his life story was an oh-so-funny and ultimately, a touching tribute to a truly fascinating man. L Henry Dowell has breathed new life into Colonel Sanders through this entertaining and thoughtful monologue. Highly recommended!

By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I am an event planner and educator who booked this performing act. The audience was brought back in time and felt as though Colonel Sanders was in the room! It was very educational in regards to the history of the times and language spoken by the Colonel. Awesome!

HASH(0x90960294) out of 5 stars interesting summary of the Colonels life 31 Oct. 2014

I enjoyed the folksy first person telling of the story of Colonel Harland Sanders' life. I like the way he captured the southern flavor of the colonels speech in the monologue.

HASH(0x90cb1a44) out of 5 stars NOT WHAT YOU THINK! 28 April 2014
By Kevin McCormick - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Be careful about ordering this book - it's not what you think.

You think you might be ordering a researched biographical account of Colonel Sanders...

Turns out this is NOT the "The Story of Colonel Sanders" ...it's actually "A One Man Show by Henry Dowell".
(Look closely at the front cover)
It's one man writing down his performance as Colonel Sanders.

NOT TO MENTION, the last half of the book is just ads for his OTHER books.
