The beginning was miserable enough but once the therapy sessions began I had to bail.
I am genuinely mystified by the high ratings for this one.
This wasn't angst it was melodrama with the same tired phrases used over and over - broken, crumbled, shattered appeared on practically every page - and I lost count of the times bile rose in her throat or her legs gave way. In this we got Logan's pov too and blow me if he didn't spout the same self-pitying rubbish as Neva. The angsty language was so over used that it lost its potency, making for a tedious, repetitive read.
I only picked this up to finish the story and find out who she ended up with but a few chapters in I find that I just don't care.
This book is emotional as you watch Neva, Logan and Angel try to move forward. You even get more insight into Tate and Low.
You fall in love with all the characters again as they try to move forward. No matter whos team you were on in finding you, you cant help but feel both Logan and Angels pain.
I was suprised I liked Angel in this book as I wasnt a major fan of his in the first book. But I really felt for him, especially in the beginning when he was there with Neva and his dad. "I will probably love you until my last dying breath."
You read about Logans struggles as he tries to move on from Neva, but he makes you feel how much he loves her and how he will do anything to make sure shes safe and happy. Even if it kills him to do it. "I miss her so much it hurts. I miss her like I would miss my left arm. She is my achille's heel, my weakness, my addiction. My everything and I damn well miss her."
You also get to see different sides of Tate and Low.
Low goes all badass on Logan, which was hilarious to read. "I broke your door because you wouldn't let me in,"
Tate has such a soft side and it really shows in this book. You can see how much he loves his sister, and wants to protect her. "But, if you're going to leave her alone. Please, for everyones sake, we can't watch her crumble and fall again."
Cant wait for book 3, Tate and Lows story. Its going to be amazing.
This was an amazing read and I would recommend without hesitation. Its a MUST read. Well done S K Hartley on another amazing read.
Couldn't wait to download it then couldn't put it down..
Logan u r my hero..
Low kick as s friend..
Tate I have a brother like you..
Loved this journey, bit again leaves you wanting the next book so you can find out what's up with???
You will love it..
Definitely recommend you read it..
Also want to put it out there ... before the reader in me come out... this series isn't for the faint hearted, S.K. Hartley deals with some real issues and brought to life some real painful experiences that we tend to skirt around for fear of offending! And she did so in an amazingly heartfelt way!
Now in saying that ... the story will suck you in from the very beginning. Primarily because of the amazingly talented, clever cliff hanger from book 1! You finally get to know what happens to Neva and what Logan does about it!
I kid you not it's heart wrenching, gut churning, emotionally crippling and will make you cry in lots of places! But it will also have you laughing out loud in places because the characters and the friendships are amazing, they are brought to life, so much so you forget they're not real! (and may cause severe jealousy that we don't have them). Am I right??
Now because this is a second and there was team Logan or team Angel I can tell you I wasn't team Angel not because he wasn't damn hot because let's face it, he was pretty damn hot but because I just thought Logan was a better match, and then with what he did at the end of book 1 ... but wow did that epilogue floor me... he broke my heart!!
Tate and Low are next and I cannot wait! Especially if Ace, Zane and Colt feature in I love those guys too!
Overall readers it's a MUST read if you've already read the first book and if you haven't read the first one you'd be missing out on a great book! So go read it ... (Finding You (bad boy series book 1!))
S.K. Hartley my hat goes off to you, you truly outdid yourself and I cannot wait to read more from you!! Do we get to read more about Angel?? If I could give you more then 5 stars I would do so and more! Loved it!
