Teddy Riley has been in the game for more than 15 years now, and still knows how to keep up with the fast-changing R&B and hip-hop worlds. On Blackstreet's third album he employs all the current tricks, including an impressive list of cameos (Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, and Jay-Z), but you have to wonder what it would sound like if he simply delivered more of the classic party-jam funk that was responsible for past hits "No Diggity" and "Booty Call". Riley doesn't need some of the production gimmicks he uses here; at first listen the songs can be jarring, though by the third or fourth spin, they sound as fresh as everything else he produces. As soulful and emotional as the ballads are, it's the dance-floor shakers "Boyfriend/Girlfriend", "Can You Feel It", and "On the Floor" that keep Blackstreet in position as soul superstars. --Rebecca Wallwork

Edited version of some songs with annoying sounds like bang, pow, birds chirping in the middle of Girlfriend/Boyfriend instead of the swear words, I'm not a child I don't want to hear that s*** it totally ruins the song. also the take me there remix not what I was expecting I wanted to her the one with Ma$e, Mya & Blinky Blink thats the version that takes me back. To be honest the only really good song on this album is black & white

I'm really sorry to say that I'm still SO disappointed in this album. The first two were absolutely LEGENDARY - particularly their eponymous release. But by this time, TR was in such serious demand (not that he wasn't before - I think he just probably didn't accept so many offers until this period) that I just don't think he had enough left to contribute to his own base.

Bar a few tracks (Girlfriend/Boyfriend, Black & White), I just think it's a really poor offering from one of the music (not just RnB) industry's greatest assets. This album showed a steady descent from the stellar standards of the original 4's offering. Another Level was nowhere near as good after the loss of Dave Hollister, and there's something about Eric Williams' voice that I do not love. Overall though, it was still a monster album.

This however, suffers from that dreaded curse of previous stand-out releases. It just doesn't measure up. There really isn't much else to add because to me, personally, I find most of the songs on this album forgettable - hence why I can't remember the title of any without cheating with the tracklist above. Sorry boys.

This album is a good mixture of fast songs with the more soulful ones. The first songs are a good concoction of Blackstreet singing with good rapping cameo's from Ja Rule, Eve and Beanie Sigel. Then after you have smooth songs like Black & White which is a brilliant smoothie. Then at the end they up the tempo with the brilliant Don't Stop which is a blazin' track
