Product Description

A psychological thriller about a beautiful teen girl new to town who is lured out to the woods by a group of senior boys to be the victim in their final initiation. Taught by her trainer, William, to be a lethal weapon, she turns the hunters into the hunted with a level of perversity far beyond anything they could have ever imagined.

We meet Veronica as a child whose parents died. She has a photographic memory and gets trained for a future job. In a poorly developed subplot 4 guys hunt and kill a woman in the woods. Veronica (Abigail Breslin) who has been in some sort of training for 12 years, practices stuff she should already know. Her photographic memory never enters the script again.

Veronica agrees to go into the woods with the four boys with the intent of killing them.

I thought the film was put together awkwardly and Abigail Breslin couldn't handle the role. She was completely unconvincing which may also be the fault of the director.

Guide: No f-bomb, sex, or nudity.

Abigail Breslin is extremely pretty and not a bad actress at all. You want "feisty teenage girl" she nails it every time in every film she turns up in.

This one has an original plot idea, boys that kill girls for fun and a girl specifically trained to take them on.

The background, history, of trainer and trainee, how the boys' antics are known about, why they are targeted, none of this is told. And she is in "training" for something like 12 years but in that time the boys' antics involve killing 20 or so girls! Less than 2 per year? And what age were they when "Veronica" was 7 years old, since she is told of the "special assignment" at that point. Ha ha. None of it stands up to any analysis at all. I have to deduct one star and that is hugely generous.......

So it's really quite one-dimensional in that way, no character development whatsoever........but in itself, because her part is well played and the added bonus of the use of hallucinogenic drugs to augment the atmosphere is nicely used, it's quite a lot of fun. Can't give it 5 stars, not quite in that league, but certainly worth a look.

Hanna meets ............ well, every other schock movie of this type. It's been done before and it's been done better, Hanna, Columbiana, Lucy to name a couple. Worth a punt if you're off work for a day and jeremy kyle is the alternative. Our heroine starts of with an identic memory but when she is righting wrongs, leaves the weapons she acquires behind. I never really understood how filmmakers let their hero(ines) leave the weapons they pick up after a brief encounter with the opposition.
This has two starts only because Abigail Breslin give sit her sassy best, and given the thin script and poor plot line, does nothing to help her. For her sake I hope she finds something with a little more originality in future

There are so many things wrong with this film, but one of the main reasons i dislike this film, Abigail character was rubbish at fighting, she was very unconvincing as a ruthless assassin in training , I am certain they could of put more effort into her fighting style, stances and gerneral posture. The storyline had so much potential but the overall diretcion of the film let it down.

A modern 'B' movie in which the would be victim is actually the heroine. Not particularly horrific, but a reasonable watch. Acting a little wooden in places but the let down is really the writing.

Final Girl is an easy-watching low budget movie. The plot is simple and while, as other reviewers have noted, it is not a novel concept it does have some new elements. It is not really a revenge movie as the targets are not linked to eponymous character - it is more of a targeted vigilante movie. If you like a bit more of a plot than a simple kids go camping only to find they are pick off one by one by a serial killer (although if you like that style you'll still like this) then you'll enjoy this. The acting is not perfect but it works in this context - it is not a blockbuster, high budget film but achieves what it sets out to do.

I very much enjoyed Final Girl. It could have been slightly better, but so could a lot of things. Overall I think it was excellent.

The story is a simple one and I will not go into detail. Veronica is trained to deal with extreme situations. I wish backstory could have explained why, but regardless, a group of guys who hunt girls for sport are about to meet their match!

Abigail Breslin is a great actress. She is believable as Veronica, and also as a naive victim. The storyline was clever and interesting.

Perhaps the majority of this movie was given away in the trailer. Still worth watching!

Not to be confused with The Final Girls, Tyler Shields horror thriller aims for a high concept film with themes about loss, nurture verses nature and the power and disassociation of the privileged classes, actually who am I kidding, any attempt to give this low budget horror thriller any semblance of depth or subtext is lost in a sea of bad acting and bad film making....
Abigail Breslin plays a Veronica a late teen / early twenty female who thanks to her parents dying when she was young and her photographic memory has spent the vast majority of her life training with some secret organisation who may or may not be a super secret crime fighting team or just a bunch of sick bastards who like nothing better than torturing young girls to turn them into killing machines. It's just not that clear as nothing is explained, not even why her photographic memory is of any relevance.

Veronica's mission is to stop a bunch of rich boys from hunting and killing local girls, she lures one of them into picking her up, and invite her out on Saturday for a date with his mates. They end up in the woods, and after a stupid game of truth or dare it is revealed that they are going to hunt and kill her. She, as the title of the film suggests, is the final girl so I can leave it there I'm sure you all can figure out the ending of the film without giving away any spoilers.

Initially the film had some potential, the early scenes that cover her training and transformation into a killing machine are filmed with a sterile non emotional feel, which at first lures you into thinking that the film makers have some sense of drama.
