As usual, some people would say you could go online and find a good, comprehensive walkthrough... but for what it costs, this guide is worth the money!! It is colourful, well written and covers everything you need to know to complete this fantastic game 100%
If you are thinking about buying this book, I'd say do it!
The Piggyback guide excels in all the ways the Brady guide is deficient, providing more detailed ways to get the most out of the Gambit system, listings of the best places to go for experience points and sellable loot, suggested levels for your characters for each segment of the main storyline, spawn conditions for all of the rare and unique monsters, and most importantly, optional sidequests (including all of the Hunts) as they are available in the walkthrough rather than lumping them all together in a separate section. All of these features are missing in the Brady guide, making this guide a far more empowering tool. Quality of the binding and paper is also superior to Brady's guide, which started to fall apart on me almost immediately after getting it home.
While I have complaints, they are almost not worth mentioning. One is that the print is extremely small, so it can be eyestraining to scan the tables and charts for the data you're looking for. But then again, with the huge amount of information in this guide, to use a larger typeface would probably have ballooned it to over 500 pages, so it's not fair to call this a flaw. The other gripe would be the lack of a centralized list of shops and their wares.Read more ›
Obviously this guide helps you through the main story of the game giving you usefull hints along the way but it also tells you all of the little secrets that you can find that otherwise you can miss out.
this is a brilliant guide to anyone who is wanted to get the best out of this game.
In my opinion, the guide for Final Fantasy XII is the best guide Piggyback ever made.
Everything is in there and it's never been more clear what to do.
The layouts for the maps are just wonderful and simple to read. All information is available in the blink of an eye. you can either choose to have a look at a short guide for directions or a more extensive step-by-step guide for the whole area.
It's pretty easy to find how to collect all items. The monster, item, weapon, ... overview is one of the best!
Only on 1 occasion I had to look up on the internet on how to hit an invisible rare frog. Anyways, seriously I've had all guides since Final Fantasy VII... there is no better one.
Obviously, all Final Fantasy games have been different, so it's only natural that the guides look different and have to be written in a different way.
Ever since Final Fantasy VII you could really see the guides improve!
The guide for Final Fantasy XIII is also still great but in some areas is missing the extensive and clear information you're used to.
If you do want one of their guides, this is the one!

Only reason I gave this 4* and not 5* is because the guide doesn't give level nor equipment suggestions for the trickiest bosses like Yiazmat, Omega Weapon and etc.Published 23 months ago by Mrs. Pauline Worthington
