About the Author

K.C. Lynn is a small town girl living in Western Canada. She grew up in a family of four children—two sisters and a brother. Her mother was the lady who baked homemade goods for everyone on the street and her father was a respected man who worked in the RCMP. He’s since retired and now works for the criminal justice system. This being one of the things that inspires K.C. to write romantic suspense about the trials and triumphs of our heroes. K.C. married her high school sweetheart and they started a big family of their own—two adorable girls and a set of handsome twin boys. They still reside in the same small town but K.C.’s heart has always longed for the south, where everyone says ‘y’all’ and eats biscuits and gravy for breakfast. It was her love for romance books that gave K.C. the courage to sit down and write her own novel. It was then a beautiful world opened up and she found what she was meant to do…write. When K.C.’s not spending time with her beautiful family she can be found in her writing cave, living in the fabulous minds of her characters and their stories.

I was told about this author by a friend, she said I had to read her Men Of Honor Series.
Wow just Wow, I'm so glad I did. I love finding new authors, but finding one who's book I fell in love with from the 1st page is rare.
Julia is the nice good girl in town, she meets Jax and they become best of friends, but Julia has been in love with him, she has for years. Then she realises that he has no feelings for her. So she tries to move on.
Jax has always had feelings for Julia, but cant get past the fact that he thinks she is to good for him, and he will taint her by being with him.
Jax joins the Navy so they only speak over emails and some phonecalls. Jax then gets injured, Julia rushes to his side. When she gets there Jax refuses to see her, he doesn't want her to see him in that state, so she goes back home vowing never to speak to him again.
After a years rehabilitation Jax decides to head back to his home town to win Julia back, its not as easy as he hopes.
I Love Jax, he is HOT!!
He brings back to other hot Navy guys Sawyer and Cade, Can't wait for their books

This is fabulous for a debut novel. It keeps you involved and wanting to know what has happened to the characters.
Julia has loved Jaxson from the first time her eyes met his, she was only sixteen. Just after, he saves her from bring attacked and they become friends - but that only. We learn his reasons why. He then leaves her to become a Seal. She's heartbroken.
It's a great idea and to be honest is well edited and written. Why three stars? Another reviewer gave one star because of the annoying use of the word 'Ya' and to be honest once I'd noticed it, I realized she was right. In one scene it's used repeatedly and from then on all the time.
Another reason is character development. There is some but not enough. From being a highly decorate, war hero, used to executing and planning covert operations. Jackson became a thug who uses his fists becoming a none thinking alpha male idiot, where Jules was involved. It didn't ring true. It was a little cliched and he needed more thought.
It's good though and I'm sure in the next novel the author will have learned through listening to reviews what her readers want. I'm looking forward to it.
Three and a half star. Suitable for older readers.

★Review★

So, I am struggling with how to actually rate this book.

The heroine was a bit whiny and seemed to either cry or giggle most of her way through the book.
She pushes for stuff that the hero has made it obvious he cannot give, then gets upset and sulky when he cannot give it. Puts herself in stupid situations, like going out with someone who has proven to be a knob, gets told he is more of a knob than she thought, a dangerous ex GF assaulting knob, has said knob acting in a way that makes her nervous so ofc, when her friends offer to take her home after her date with the knob, she declines as she is sulking about stuff with the hero, who is also in the group of friends, so goes off alone with the knob who proves he is the King of Knobs.

The hero, a typical "I am too damaged, I don't know how to love blah blah blah" hero who keeps pushing the heroine away while his dick disobeys him by constantly pointing toward the heroine like some kind of meaty dowsing rod.

If something could go wrong for the H/h in this book, it did.

BUT I finished it and did sort of enjoy it, even though , for me the H/h were very immature and not at all acting like 24/26 year old, one who has been in the Navy and one a supposed qualified teacher.

And I am interested in Sawyer and especially Cade so shall be carrying on, since I got the series in a bargainous box set!

I had this book on my old kindle, read it twice because I enjoyed it so much. Purchased again on my new kindle & have just finished reading it for the third time ! It has everything a good book should....love, romance, arguing, suspense, drama, kidnapping & a big dollop of sexy guys too ! I am disabled & read a lot of books & I have an extensive collection of books from all different genres. Sometimes you'll come across a book that you just can't delete & know you'll enjoy it even more so, with each time you read it . This is one of those books!. For me, this book is a keeper....right at the top of my favourite list, along with Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster. I can't recommend this book enough. LOVE IT, LOVE IT !!!

This book was recommended as a cheap read through Bookbub, but there is nothing remotely cheap about this book. I fell in love with the characters from the get go, not just Jax and Julia but their friends as well. They all have their own stories to tell and their own demons to battle, but they all stole my heart. The story is told through dual POV, which gives us a deep insight to both Jax and Julia's thoughts and feelings, and as the story progressed they both ingrained themselves into my heart. The author was brilliant at conveying the intense emotions that carried the story, so much so that by the end I was completely wrung out. Some of the scenes aren't for the faint hearted and were at times difficult to read (especially Anna) but they were so vital to the plot that the story wouldn't have had the same meaning without them. Throughout the book I found myself on the edge of my seat when things weren't going right, gasping when things became tense, holding my breath not knowing if what they were going to say next would be brutal or kind, squirming & breaking out into a sweat when the sexual tension mounted to fever pitch and smiling for joy when they reveled in the tender, soul deep love that they shared. These are characters that will stay with me because I FELT each and every one of them, I became invested in their lives to the point where I wanted to kick Jax's ass when he was being a twat, and then kiss him when he did something wonderful. I couldn't put this book down and as soon as I'd finished I bought the whole series, which isn't something I would normally do, but having read this I just had to! I found this book heart wrenchingly, gut twistingly, panty droppingly brilliant & I want more.
