even though the Raven & Jonah were awesome characters, gotta say Blake totally stole the show for me **Dreamy sighs** and I'm excited that his book is next *evil grin*
but back to R & J they had their issues to deal with, and I'm glad they found a way, definitely not smooth sailing for these 2. R is a strong woman character, that is just about to reach the end of sanity with he shit her "parents" have put her through for the past 20 years. J has a tough life as well and is on the brink of being an epic turn around but sacrifices have to be made if he wants to stay with R forever... the question is will he be able to do so?!
Totally recommend you read this if you haven't done so yet.
The item came in perfect condition and safely packaged. The quality of the cover is not very strong, it is thin and bent easily. The paper inside is thick and good quality. The writing size and font is easy to read and overall the item is good.
There’s really nothing I love more as a blogger than picking up a novel by a relatively unknown author and realizing that you’ve struck gold, that the book is going to be a winner. This is just one of those books, the style flows easily, the central characters are easily to believe in and get behind and root for and the story is angsty, tortuous and completely compelling. 4 stars
When Jonah Slade famous UFL fighter comes to the garage to hire Raven to restore a car for him. The attraction between them is immediate.
For the most part I really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between Raven and Jonah is really hot. I loved the way the author built the sexual tension up to a fever pitch. Jonah has always been a playboy, never sleeping with the same woman more than once.
He is demanding and protective, and at 6' 5" he's visually intimidating. Raven is 20 years old and totally inexperienced with men, especially one like Jonah.
What made this a four star instead of a five star for me, was the plot concerning Raven's father. I found it a quite unrealistic that a man with a whole stable of women, earning money to fill his coffers. Would have hung around for 21 years just to set in motion the plan he had formed all those years ago. Especially as Raven was his daughter. It just didn't seem believable. Even more so considering his actions during the dramatic ending. This let the story down a bit for me.
There are a whole host of other characters in the story, my favourite was Blake another fighter and best friends with Jonah. Blake's story is next, I will definitely be reading that.
Raven Morretti is the daughter of an infamous Las Vegas Pimp and her mother is a prostitute. She had a cold upbringing. Her mother never showed her any love so when she was old enough she left home and works in her friends garage as a mechanic.
Jonah Slade is a MMA fighter and a local celebrity. After the death of his father when he was 12, he has closed himself off to relationships and only ever sleeps with girls once and he never brings them to his home.
When Jonah wants a mechanic to help upgrade his latest car, he goes to Raven's garage and her boss gives her the job. From the moment they meet they are both drawn to one another. They are soon in a relationship and soon 'in love' (I think their relationship was maybe a tad rushed).
However, Raven's father is waiting in the wings for when she turns 21. He has a proposition for her. One that may destroy her new found happiness.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Raven and Jonah. The sex scenes were well written.
I liked all the characters in this book (apart from the baddies!) and the author has a great skill of writing 'boy talk'! I'm pleased to read that Blake's story will be next. I look forward to that.
