This is Chance Logan’s story.

I met him together with his twin brother, Chase, at the start of the series in Chasing Rainbows. The saying “just like old friends” does not apply to this reunion as I hated the twins after what they had done to Adie when they were younger.

I wasn’t prepared to forgive and forget that easily.

But it seemed the years had changed the boys just like everyone else in the series. Yes, they still think they are God’s gift to women and took advantage of that as much as they could. Oh I was really prepared to hate them again second time around.

But Iris came into the picture.

Through her, albeit directly or not, I saw the boys I loved to hate through different eyes and realised that they are now men who had been through a lot and became who they are because of the card life had dealt them with.

Just like the rest of Linda Oaks’ books, this story has heart and was brimming with heat. The attraction between the main characters was undeniable from the start. Had I been reading a physical book, I'm quite sure the pages would have caught flames during those scenes between Chance and Iris.

I also enjoyed the secondary characters who helped shaped the story. Alice is just a darling. Just ask Chance!

However, I would have liked to have seen more of Chance’s “boxing” side. It might have given the story a different edge and possibly explored Chase’s humanity seeing his beloved brother in that light. There were also a few editing errors throughout but not enough to stop me from enjoying the book.

I heard this was the last of the series and it definitely ended on a high. I’ll be looking forward to reading more from this author in future.

The book starts off with Chance who is a true manwhore only sleep the women once and never repeat unlike his twin brother chase, even though he is the guy who will not put his heart out there after being hurt in the past he's still a decent guy to be honest it's not just the hurt from a previous relationship that’s made him to the manwhore he is today is all done to the way his dad was with his mum and him and chase are convinced they will end up like him and they figure why go through all the hurt and pain. Iris comes across as this timid mouse but underneath that she's feisty just needs to let go of the guilt and the pain of the past. Iris has had a lot of hurt in her life but she keeps going for Alice even though sometimes I think she finds everything to overwhelming as she finds it hard to let go and have fun. When she meets chance she does everything she can to stay away from him or avoid his advances even though she's harboring strong feelings that she want to act she can't with the secrets she keeping she can't afford to go off track but chance is persistent and finally get his way but what happens when the secrets come to light.

Heart wrenching emotional introduction to a sensational book by Linda Oaks. The storyline and characters where refreshing and exciting right from the very first chapter. The writing was smooth and easy to read, which helped me read the book in one sitting. Linda's expression of her words felt like you where watching a movie develop right in front of you. Definitely a must read.
