This is a truly helpful book not just for people who suffer from horrible debilitating thoughts and feelings, but for absolutely everyone who is a human being! In fact I would describe it as the self help book for the person who thought they would never, ever buy a self help book. With Hazel, you feel you're in safe hands. She recognises our struggles great and small and shows such wit, common sense and lightness of touch, that her wise words comfort like those from a much loved friend. Look, she says, stop beating yourself up, we can deal with this, together. I defy anyone to read this book without feeling wiser, stronger and ready to move forward in a healthier, happier way.
An incredible read! I wanted to read this book for my own issues around my sports, and my mindset with my self doubt..... however in reading this amazing book it has totally changed how my partner and I speak to our children — both WHAT we say, and HOW we say things in front of them. It may seem obvious as a parent but how Hazel talks about it in the book made me really think back to things were said to me as a child, perhaps it’s why I have some self doubt??! As a result on changing our approach our son has made amazing progress with a speech issue he was struggling with. He has completely changed! We loved him all the time, but we’re falling in love all over again.
So not only had this book assisted me, but also my 3 year old son..... who without Hazels advice and the way she has written I wouldn’t have implemented the changes. Thank you Hazel. Highly recommend this book xx
This is a well written and easy to follow self help book with lots of useful exercises. The best time to use it is when you have a few quiet moments, with a pencil and paper to hand rather than binge reading it before bed. Hazel uses her own experiences to good effect in order to talk the reader through the exercises, and to illustrate the benefits.
This book has changed my life immeasurably- and that’s honestly no exaggeration. Hazel manages to tread the difficult line of explaining the theory behind the self- help concepts yet still making the process fully accessible and engaging. Hazel uses her own experiences to highlight how this practice has helped her come back from the brink- something I’ve not seen before in a self help book- this definitely made me listen and understand the thinking behind the guidance on a deeper level. This book is something I will be going back to time and again for guidance in reframing my thinking- the self sabotaging monster within us is a powerful and scary thing but you do have control over the little blighter- this book helps you to understand there’s nothing to be frightened or ashamed of. Buy this book if you want to be happier, calmer and altogether more enlightened person- no brainer right?!
I generally find it hard to get into self-help books. I always find myself scoffing at every line, smug in the belief that a book will never be the solution. Not so with FIGHT. I read it in three days, and have found myself recommending to friends, colleagues and family. This book has finally given me that “aha” moment... I hope it does the same for others.
This is a fantastic book to help you overcome the monsters that live in your mind, holding you back from being who you want to be. It has practical exercises, meditations and loads of information backed up by science. Brilliant!
A step by step guide on how to deal with your inner demons. If you are like me and find that you are your own worst enemy, then this is the book for you. It's well written with clear instructions for exercises. Definitely a life changer!
Great self-help book giving advice on controlling thoughts so as not to self-sabotage and attain good health and wellbeing. Has a number of tasks to help with this process. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.
