HASH(0x93b758e8) out of 5 stars Academic thesis without esoteric language 10 Sept. 2012

Author Alan Palmer does an outstanding job showing the various ways in which character conciousness is depicted in fiction. Palmer challenges the narratological approach that applies speech attributes to thought/consciousness attributes, and emphesizes the power of thought report. (I am not doing justice to his eloquent and in-depth thesis.)

If you are a fiction writer or narratologist, this book is a must.
