About the Author

I will start with things that I would like to know about my favorite authors. I work in a factory making chainsaws. Well that’s a bit of a fib, I don’t make chainsaws, I actually I make the little pieces that come together to make a whole saw :] When I am not there, which is about 15 days a month, I spend my time in Barnes and Noble with my B&N buddy, Kaii. Who is Kaii you ask? Kaii is my younger photo happy taking brother. I have three sisters and one brother, God bless his soul for being the only boy surrounded by bunch of chatty women. :] I live in Virginia Beach with my tree-hugging boyfriend Josh and our overweight Norwegian Forest cat Max or as I love to call him Kitamacat.

Intriguing and impossible at the same time. So many lives intertwined with so many ways to go. The twists and turns keep you going until the last word. Can't wait for volume 2.

I received this for review a few weeks ago and only have just read it. I am kicking myself now because Few Are Angels was such a wonderful and unique story that completely gripped me.

Few Are Angels is about Ella, who after a horrible crash that kills her parents, is starting to have "visions" of the past. And when she meets Kale her world is torn apart. Soon she is being hunted and learning the truth about herself.

I really enjoyed Few Are Angels. I found the characters very engaging and exciting. Ella is very likeable and you feel for her since she has lost her parents and when she is opened to a world she didn't know excited she takes it all in her stride. When she meets Kale there is an instant attraction, now that for me this was annoying. I'm not into instalove and even though there is a backstory behind their story I felt it didn't seem realistic. However as the story continues and we learn more about Kale and it is very easy to understand why Ella likes him so much. He is hot, caring and slightly dangerous.

The story itself was very different and dark at times. I devoured it flows perfectly from one scene to another without anything having to be forced. However, I did find the end slightly disappointing and leaves you on a cliffhanger but its makes me really excited to read book 2. As I mentioned above there is a backstory to the main story that is very interesting I hope that is developed more in future books.

I highly recommend Few Are Angels if you are looking for something quick that has love, action, a gripping plot and Vampires!

Ella's past is devastating, but her future may push her over the edge. After losing her parents she starts to have visions and hearing voices, which lead to her being admitted to a psychiatric hospital. After moving to live with her parent's friends, she meets Kale, and her life will never be the same again.

The book is well written and the character development and story line both continually evolve throughout the book, leaving little to the imagination. The reader can easily escape into the story.

I loved the fact that the Epilogue is written from all of the main characters perspectives, gives you a full view of the final fight in the book.

This book will leave you wanting much more of Ella, Kale, Jace, Alex & Mia's story.

I loved this book, I made the mistake of reading the second one before doing this review, so will keep this short. Inger has done a wonderful job with the characters and I love Ella. Kale is now up there with male favourites too.

Good Points

The first thing that struck me with this was the writing itself. From the very first page, it flowed smoothly and was relaxed in how beautifully descriptive it was. The characters were enticing, and their `voices' both inner and outer rang very true for who they were, with a very defined `voice' for each of them. I thought the world within the story (and the story itself) was an interesting and original idea, although the unfolding of the world was a little complicated. I thought it was pretty cool that this story also mixed together a few sub-genres within the paranormal genre, as I love stories that do this. I also loved that there was a small quote at the beginning of each chapter-it made it a little more fun, but also gave some hint towards the book within. The emotion in this YA novel was well-written and could make it tug at your heartstrings, and have you weeping into a box of Kleenex the next. On top of all this, the ending.......wow!

Bad Points

One of the points I would like to make is that the setting up of the universe within the book was a little complicated-almost too much. There were plenty of little sub-plots leading up to the main plotline, and most of them I really liked, but some of them were not really needed, and it would have been nice to have them cleaned up from the story line. Also, I felt the romance was a little fast, as after just two days Ella felt she had serious feelings for the guy, and I'm not a big fan of insta-love.

Overall

I thought this was a great read. It was fresh and different from many similar stories, and I thought the author had come up with a fresh and original concept. The characters were strong and vivid, and I can't wait to see more of them.

I had to skim the remaining chapters of this book, I just couldn't finish it properly. I'm not sure why apart from it was very slow and just didn't hold my interest which is a shame as the plot and story have such great potential. Ella is a distraught teenager who has been labelled due to her strange behaviour after her parents death. This is not helped by the strange feelings, and dreams she has but they aren't actually dreams there memories of a past life.when she meets Kale she feels connected to him but even with that and finally finding out about his involvement in her past you never move past the im not sure about him vibe which is a shame considering what he did to protect her. I don't usually have an issue finishing a book of this genre but it was just a little too slow for me, regardless it was well written and had many supporting characters. I would assume following books would have more storylines, but it's not for me.
