The hutch assembly is well made, however to reduce weight the back is made of blockboard (hollow inside) so any holes will allow ingress of water unless properly sealed. The door hinges (8 No) are flimsy and won't last long, so I have already replaced them will heavier ones for less than £5.00.
In all the hutch will do the job, but don't expect a lifetime usage.

I spent a long time researching the kind of hutches that are out there and the price you pay for them. I was left really disappointed with the hutches in the high street pet stores. They seemed very flimsy and very expensive for what you actually got. My original hutch needed a new cover which would cost £30. It was when I was looking for a new cover I found this deal. For another £40 I could have a good cover and hutch. I built the hutch on my own so for me I found it easy and straight forward to put together. The quality of material is more than reasonable but I do agree that the preserve on the outside is thin but to be fair to the company they do suggest re-painting it within a month or so depending on the weather it is exposed to. The trays are a great idea for cleaning but can cause issues for the rabbit. Mine tended to flip the sawdust out of the sides when he went up and down the rap. To overcome this I bought some pallet board from the local DIY shop which has a rough side and a shiny side. I cut a piece to fit the bottom tray exactly and fixed it using double sided tape with the rough side up. This means that the rabbit can now run up and down without skidding over. I cut two pieces of the same stuff to fit in the sides as well about 3 inches high so you still get the light coming in the sides downstairs. This stops the wind from blowing through and taking the sawdust with it. I've left the top part as it came because this is the part that needs cleaning the most so the tray is brilliant for this. The cover is fantastic there are no zips to break just Velcro straps to fix it in place with string on the bottom so you can tie it to the legs. It's not been tested in extreme rain yet but my rabbit was really comfortable in the wind as he was well covered. Overall I am very happy with this hutch and a few minor adjustments have made it absolutely ideal for me. The cost was minimal as well to make these changes.

Received the delivery pretty quick so that was brilliant.
I spent many an hour researching various styles of hutches and suppliers + also went to various pet shops to see hutches and feel the quality as I have not had a rabbit before and wanted good quality.

I wanted a 4ft hutch as I am getting 2 drawf bunnies and wanted enough space for them to move around the hutch. So I am disappointed that the "actual hutch" size is only 45in and the "4ft" is the length of the roof!! That is 3"shorter than I thought. There is another dimention stated lower in the advert but that is 47in, so again not 45in!
The instructions are so basic and very poorly compiled - very disappointed.
I thought that the idea of the plastic base on both levels would be perfect, to ensure that any urine / water does not warp the flooring - however, the plastic is very thin and with very little pressure bends with no real support underneath.
Well, its up and ready for our 2 new arrivals tomorrow - time will tell with the durability of this hutch as the "vaarnish / weatherproofing" is very thin and will therefore have to recoat very soon.
One more thing - the doors could do with top and bottom latches as there is a lot of movement on them - I will be going out to get two more tomorrow - disappointed :-( Didn't have a choice but to keep as rabbits coming tomorrow now. Shame I have spent nearly £100 for a hutch inc delivery and I have to go out and buy add on's to ensure bunnies are safe in the hutch.
On a positive, I am sure my son will love it when he sees it all set up in the garden tomorrow morning!!!

Excellent hutch for two guineapigs that have decided that they don't want to live in the same hutch together any more. Good construction and arrived very quickly. Instructions could have been a bit clearer!

We put our rabbits in this yesterday and by this morning they have been eating the wood. I have shown photos to a local pet shop who said that the damage is unacceptable, and that the product is not fit for purpose. I would not recommend anyone to buy the hutch, the photo shows some damage done by one rabbit in the first 12 hours.

If you've seen the prices of similar hutches at a certain high street pet store chain, you'd be forgiven for assuming this was of much lower quality. It arrived flat packed, but with fairly decent instructions and a well packed set of parts. It went together with a minimum of fuss, though did suffer from some typical flat pack issues - a screw hole in the wrong place and some areas where the fit could be a little bit more flush. Only minor niggles. My only concerns are with the quality of some of the materials used. It's made of softwood, which seemed to be very easily damaged as it went together. Also the application of the wood stain seemed to have been done pretty sparingly, leaving it quite thin in patches - I think I'll be repainting this very early on. That said, the general build quality seems pretty good. The finished product looks sturdy, and on the surface not much different to the high street equivalent which was almost twice the price.
