I first read this book when it came out over thirty years ago and it's been on my bookshelf ever since I picked it up the other day just out of curiosity. What an amazing book. Although it's quite dated in some ways, the actual content of the essays is still relevant today and I'd say this is a must-read for anyone interested in the subject.

This book is a fabulous book to help you really understand the personal struggles of the individual with an eating disorder whether it be Anorexia, Bulimia or Compulsive eating. This is a must have book for professionals which enables you to understand the psychology behind the eating disorder for a feminist psychoanalytic perspective.
