Product Description

Legends and folklores are tales of our childhood that construct our view on the past. We have heard them so many times, we think we know all that happened...but we don't. Enter the era of Robin Hood, during his childhood years; is there more to this outlaw than we could have originally perceived? In the shadows of the woodland that fringes the town of Croll, a dark twist of betrayal, love and action unfolds as we follow the life of Faylinn and her quest to learn who she really is. But her true identity is not what she had expected, and now she must do all she can to redeem her troubled past. Faylinn's story is a shadowed tale of death, friendship and the importance of family. With familiar characters and memorable scenes, 'Faylinn' is a page-turning novel that will make you wish it wasn't fiction. Have your very own, brand new paperback copy of this action-packed, dark and humorous book to call your own.

This is story telling of the very highest order. Although clearly a young author, Jem Slucock has many literary skills that some more established writers do not possess. This story is a "prequel" to the famous tales of Robin Hood without at any point referencing to them. It is well paced and imaginative. I have no qualms about recommending this book. I look forward to reading more from Miss Slucock in the future.

What makes a good book I hear you ask? well Faylinn makes a good book, in fact, no. Faylinn makes a brilliant book. what it is important to me as a reader is the connection you can make with the characters throughout a story, to feel what they feel and to see what they see, to become fully immersed in the world the author creates and Faylinn does this in an excellent way. I have been a fan of the tales of Robin Hood since before I could read them myself and to give one of my most loved heroes more depth and a new angle with such imagination and creativity was just great for me. I literally finished it ten minutes ago and I just cant explain how much I enjoyed reading it, I didn't even put it down to eat dinner or bath. Great book, Great Story, Great Author. 5 stars and fully recommend to my fellow readers.
