Another winner from this collection though I guess it will appeal more to a certain age group. I sooo remember my Mum making these recipes, there's only one or two she didn't make (mostly because my Dad called it mucked about with food and refused to eat it) and they brought back lots of memories. I myself am so busy making other more 'modern' recipes that I simply forget to make any of these, so glad I got this book. I'm going to cook up some memories and enjoy every one of them

I thought I might get some new ideas from this (about recipes form the past). All is a bit basic and known to most already I should think. If you know nothing of recipes of the 50s / 60s then it might be of interest.

...in this title from the 'Salmon Favourite Recipe' series of books.

◄ 978-1-84640-243-2/COLOUR VERSION ►

From the back cover:

‘Featuring retro favourites from the 1950s & and 60s, this book combines recipes and photographs which capture the mood of that time for all things ‘modern’. Rekindle the spirit of the age through the easy-to-make dishes in this practical and colourful cookery book.’

Measuring around 16.75 cm x 11.75 cm, this charming little paperback has 48 quality pages, covering 35 recipes.
It opens with an alphabetical list of the recipes contained within.
Each recipe opens with the title, the list/s of ingredients and the method.

Interspersed with full-colour ‘nostalgic kitchen images’, sourced from ‘The History of Advertising Trust Archive’, my particular favourite being a family breakfast scene on page 5, alongside ‘French Onion Soup’, with an optional shot of sherry.

Other recipes include:

• Avocado Dip
• Quiche Lorraine
• Salmon Mousse
• Trout with Almonds
• Chicken Chasseur
• Wiener Schnitzel
• Chilli con Carne
• Steak Diane
• Lemon Meringue Pie
• Pineapple Upside-down Pudding
• Sherry Trifle

'Metric Conversions' are given on the last page before a complete list of the titles in the Salmon series, on the inside back cover.
