Excellent book. Written from the author's heart as he experienced growing up with a distant father. His stories are real and yet encouraging in the same breath. The real life accounts of others show the damage that fatherlessness can cause and just how endemic it is within society. The church needs to rise up and challenge this, firstly by being committed fathers themselves, and then reaching out to those who need a father. Like Paul said, there are many teachers in the church but few fathers.
The Mentoring Project that the author now leads is an excellent example of how the church can do practical things to show the Father's love.
An easy yet challenging and encouraging read.
