What I liked about this book is how the author has grown the characters.

Serenity is still battling her conflicted feelings for Vondorian. Some of her past was revealed and she became a much more complex character yet I could understand her need for darkness even when at times, she craved the light. The push and pull of the character was extremely well executed.

I like the way the author is peeling back the layers of each character to reveal a little bit more. When you think you know more about Vondorian, he does something that makes your head spin and he really is a character that keeps you on your toes.

The author’s vivid description of the worlds they live in are second to known. This book is written like an artist would paint a picture. There’s careful layering, a fusion of emotions, the blackest of black and the whole canvas is awash with detailing.

I would definitely recommend this series.

HASH(0x9c3b5084) out of 5 stars Mysterious indeed... 13 Mar. 2015

I am really loving this series. I wish the books were slightly longer but I think Sheats knows exactly what she is doing when it comes to grabbing the reader's attention, getting you hooked and then leaving you craving for more right when she's done telling this part of the story. She keeps you teetering on the edge between anger that the story has ended for the moment but itching for her to share the rest of this awesome Opsona Journey.

I loved the tension and mystery in this installment of the Opsona series. There was more delving into Serenity's muddled past, and the introduction of the very seductive stranger heightened the tension in story to a whole other level. Now Serenity is dealing with not just her dueling feelings for Vondorian but for the sexy stranger sneaking his way under her skin and into her lust filled fantasies.

There is so much creativity in this series that it literally flows from the pages. I love the descriptions of the surrounding environment and landscape in these books. Sheats brings the backdrop of her books alive to the reader. She also has a knack for capturing the pure emotions of her characters from Serenity's conflicting heart to her compulsion for darkness.

I love how Sheats is slowly unraveling Serenity's identity and past, as well as her purpose and power. There is so much more to Serenity than meets the eye and I am so eager to see what the next piece of the puzzle will hold for both Serenity and those that cross her path.
HASH(0x9387c804) out of 5 stars Even better than the first!! 13 May 2015

I though Immortal Tempest was good, but Fated Betrayal was even better! It grabbed my attention, and it was easy and fun to read. I really loved it!!

Cret--I absolutely loved him and I'm totally rooting for him!! He was just awesome! I loved his growliness and his possessive towards Serenity. Not to mention when he was thinking about dominating her and making her surrender to him...wowee--that was hot! But that's not all he feels for her, though; he truly cares about Serenity and I couldn't help but fall for him.

Fated Betrayal is full of sexual tension, mystery, bada**eryness, and deviousness. It was once again a short book, but it was in no way boring!! I loved it and I cannot wait for book three!! I need it like NOW!!!

Fated Betrayal does end in a GAH-like cliffhanger and it's told from Serenity and Cret's POV.

** ARC provided by Obsessed by Books for an honest review **

Fated Betrayal Opsona Journey, #2)is the second book in the series. This series is fun and exciting. Fated Betrayal continues from the first one in the series. J.N. Sheats grabs you on the first page and you won't want to stop reading. Even though the book is short it still keeps you entertained and hooked on reading.

Serenity is dealing with her feelings for Vondorian and a stranger who she comes across. In Fated Betrayal Serenity is also dealing with her past that she left behind.

I love how J.N. Sheats creates her characters and how well they are developed. Looking forward to the next one in the chapter and how Serenity deals with Vondorian and her feelings. For those who also she comes across in her journies.
