With Shinji defeated Shiro is sorry that he couldn't save his friend despite and is somewhat intimidated after discovering Saber's true identity. The next day, while Shiro and Saber are still recovering from their battle, Caster makes her move and using her own Noble Phantasm she causes some serious trouble for the pair. With Caster showing her hand Rin and Archer decide that she is the biggest threat and search for Caster's master.

This is a good volume that mostly sets things up for future instalments but is still interesting on its own. The volume reveals some of Saber's background as well as giving hints at the true identity of Archer. Casters actions in this volume are also very nice and it leaves things in an interesting place for farther volumes.

The only real problem with this volume is the fate of Shinji. For such a despicable character, he gets off very lightly and he suffers far worse in all the other versions of the story. Due to this I will have to give the volume four stars rather than five but it is still an entertaining volume.
