Reginald has learned he can store a farcical amount of infomation simply by speed reading in a matter of seconds. His capabilities are amazing and he has learned 50 languages just for the hell of it!
This instalment sees them up against an Angel, one of the original six fallen, who wants to wipe out vampires as they aren't useful.
A great read indeed, a brilliant follow up from the successful first offering, Fat Vampire. You will love it!
The first book is so good I hadn't been sure book number 2 would be as brilliant and funny but I was quickly proven very wrong! There are a few good surprises in this one and it manages to stay amusing and entertaining throughout. The progression of Reginald and Nikki's relationship surprised me, if only because I'd thought a bigger deal would be made of it, but it added to the humour so it's not a big complaint.
All in all a very entertaining and amusing read. I would recommend to anyone who likes their supernatural books with a good sense of humour!
I did not however, enjoy the writing nearly so much
The first novel was funny and witty with a main character you just had to love for his hopelessness. That is what got me through the first novel. In this novel he is in control and seems to be about the only vampire with his head screwed on straight. This was a change but for me not a good one.
Much of the comedy was lost to this.
There were long sections of travelling where little happened, or half-said conversations written badly.
It is a shame the author took this route. I am not sure if I will read the next one.
The author clearly had great fun writing this...
as before we are left on a cliff hanger!!
