Hey That's my fish is a great game. It's a very simple idea of a melting iceberg and collecting fish.

I admit its a bit fiddley to setup, but this does mean there is variety in the board layout as you can make it any shape you want not just the recommended one in the instructions.

I think previous reviews have said its poor quality for the money, i don't share that view the problem with the really good modern board games is that not enough people buy them so this unfortunately keeps the cost high, look at a game like `ticket to ride' as an example. The board tokens are good quality and the penguins are ok quality. It is a small box and I think this is the issue, as small box makes you think low cost.

Its a great game to take on holiday as it is a small package, i would thoroughly recommend this game my 7 year old loves to play this game and its not too simple that an adult gets bored.

a good purchase..

This is a good game for children. However the original deluxe edition was lovely, but this version is a cheap travesty. Half the price, quarter the size and a tenth of the quality. If you can get hold of the original deluxe edition I recommend it, but not this version of the game.

The game is fun even for adults. I guess this is some kind of new edition because the one I've seen reviewed on youtube looked much bigger and different (not the deluxe). I like this artwork better though - the penguins are prettier plastic figures in different poses (the ones I've seen before were wooden profiles), the tiles you lay have better looking fish. The only problem might be its small size, but then again - it could be a pro in some cases because it doesn't take so much space. Someone before said the tiles are really tiny to pick up by younger children - I'm not sure about little children picking up by the edges any kind of tiles no matter the size. I recommend trying to lay the tiles not that tightly leaving some space for your fingers. The quality is great, there's nothing cheap about it (and believe me, I'm the first to fuss about built quality). I don't think it's too expensive considering the price of the deluxe version - 9.99 vs 38.14. I don't regret buying it and I don't think the deluxe version has something better to offer - I like this version's design of penguins and fish better, and I don't mind the size - it fits my coffee table.

a fun strategy game for children and adults, takes minutes to learn. The only downside of the small version of the game is that the tiles are hard to remove from the playing surface without disrupting adjacent tiles. Buy the bigger version of the same game. Would give 4 stars for the bigger version.

Hey, That’s My Fish is a strategic game for 2-4 players aged 8+. The aim of the game is to be the player that catches the most fish with their penguins.

In the box you receive 60 ‘ice’ tiles, 16 penguins and rules. To start the game you shuffle the 60 tiles and set them out into a game board. Players then choose which colour penguins they want to play with and place them onto ice tiles of their choosing. The more players that play the less penguins each player has to play with.

Players take it in turns to move their penguins between the tiles. Penguins can be moved as many places as possible, however, they can only move in a straight line and cannot jump over any gaps or other penguins. Once moved, the player takes the tile that they started on and adds it to their game pile. Each tile has on it either 1, 2 or 3 fish. Play continues until all player’s penguins are stranded and no one can make any more moves. At the end of the game each player counts up the number of fish they have on their own pile of tiles which they have collected. Whoever has the most wins.

I have to admit, when I first read the instructions I was a little confused, however, once we had set up the game board and started playing the rules were easy to pick up. At the age of 7 I thought it may be a little difficult for our son, however, he has played strategic games with his Dad in the past and picked up the rules very quickly.

The game pieces are great quality and I really like that the game is very small so it is easy to take away with you.

We had great fun playing this game as a family, even my husband enjoyed playing and we ended up playing quite a few games one afternoon. I can definitely see it being a game that is played often.

We received this game free of charge in return for our honest blog review.
