In Hey, That's My Fish!, players want to catch as many fish as possible with their waddle of penguins. Each turn, a player moves one penguin in a straight line over hex-shaped ice tiles with 1, 2 or 3 fish on them. The player then collects the hex from where the penguin started its movement from the table, thereby creating a gap which penguins can't cross on future turns. When a penguin can't move, it's removed from play with its owner claiming the tile on which it stands. The player who collects the most fish wins.

A sub zero game of fishy strategy
Hey, That’s My Fish! is an engaging, award-winning board game of strategic fish hunting, in which two to four players control determined penguins hungry for their next meal on a bustling Antarctic ice floe. Do you have the mettle to grab more fishy meals than your feathered foes?
Since Hey, That’s My Fish! was originally published in 2003, it has become widely popular as an engrossing and strategic board game for casual family and tactical play, and it was even recommended in 2006 for the Spiel des Jahres award. Now, Fantasy Flight Games is proud to publish this definitive edition of the game, which includes a new box, new penguin miniatures, and new artwork.
New Box, New Components, and New Artwork
In this definitive edition of the game, Hey, That’s My Fish! has been repackaged in an easily storable small box. The new penguin miniatures are colourful, more detailed than ever before, and bursting with individual personality. The new art commissioned by FFG for the compact set of ice tiles clearly displays the number of fish on each tile with lively and colourful renditions.
- From 2 to 4 players
- For age 8+
- Playing time 20+ minutes
Let them eat fish.
Hey, That’s My Fish! is infinitely re-playable. The sixty hexagonal tiles that each display one to three fish are used to randomly construct the board, which will have your penguins travelling a differently shaped path every game. As you hone your strategy with every new map, will the icy shapes lead to your demise or will you claim victory?

A quick tip is to put a small blog of blue tak in the box, as this makes for a much easier way to pick up tiles from the middle of the play area.
It’s got a lot of character and is very easy to teach, but has some strategic planning involved and a bit of good sums practice at the end.
Be warned though - there are ways to play that can set the other players up to fail, and you may find yourself separating two arguing children like drunks at 2am because one trapped the other on an ice floe in the corner.
The object of the game is simple: collect more fish than your opponents! Once the play area is set up, players take turns in placing their coloured penguin token on a 1 Fish tile. Once all penguins are placed, the first player takes their turn by moving one of their penguins from one tile to another, removing the tile they just left and adding the value of the fish on that tile to their score. The game continues until there are no tiles left. Whoever has the most fish at the end wins!
The box is small enough that you can take it just about anywhere, and the game itself doesn't take up much room when all the tiles are placed so it's ideal for travelling. The components are a but on the small side, but very well made.
In all, Hey That's My Fish is an excellent example of a family board game, and I doubt you'll find a better one for the price.
I bought this for a penguin lover and boardgamer.
This is a breeze to play, not massively challenging but there's definitely times you have to think carefully.
It's fun to play with youngsters too, but the setup is the only real issue I have, this is a good one for a few rounds at a time.
There is a bit of strategy in this one but as it is a quick little game you won't mind if you loose. There is a little bit of "take that" and that can be quite funny.......when it's not you!
This is a decent enough game for the kids to pick up and play. It encourages a bit of forward thinking/strategy also as you can trap the other penguins if you plan it well enough.
