I enjoyed my read for that reason, as well as because at least one or two of the stories were actually good all round, in particular Me and My Shadow which was excellently written, clever, and brought one of my favourite 'unusual vampire' myths into play. Great stuff and would love to read some full-length novels from that author.
I had specified 'traditional vampire folklore' - so no sparkling in sunlight or derision at Holy items. Even so, one unsuccessful contributor
named her vampire Edward Cullen!
To whittle the tales down to a mere eighteen took longer than expected, but I am so proud of the end result. The stories have a fresh take
on the genre - and believe me - I have read a lot of vampire books. Many of the authors in Fangtales have appeared in print for the first time,
and I can only hope they will continue to write in the same vein - sorry couldn't resist a vampire joke :) In my humble opinion, these tales are the cream of the crop,
original, scary and very addictive.
