Would this version be compatible (i.e."work") with the Win 7 64bit version I'm using at present on the pc and could I import my earlier Family Tree Maker files, records, scrapbooks etc.,
without losing any data? Grateful for nformed coments please...
Thank you.

I purchased the Ftm upgrade for 2014 and it works a treat on my windows 7 64.
The things they have upgraded are amazing and remember all the files are held on line not on your computer.
Acs.

Ahh, thank you for this information. I'd not realised the data would be held on line and not as at present, as files on the pc.
I'd be a wary of having all my personal, family details hosted on line - given the concerns about identity fraud - but perhaps that's just being paranoid!

On Ancestry you can set your Family Tree as private, so no one can see it. This defeats some of the advantages, for instance others giving useful advice etc. Even if you set your Family Tree as public, living people are not available to others (works by no death date given even if they are hundreds of years old - use the unknown death date in this case). Unless you put addresses and phone numbers etc. on your family tree, there is nothing to steal. Also there are millions of records on-line in Ancestry, so you think they are interested in yours?
My original feedback is about the upgrade of existing users with large files and advanced use of FTM 2012. If you are new to FTM or if you don't use any advanced features, this does not apply. There is web feedback that FTM 2014 is still unstable software and in particular the Sync link is buggy. They usually sort this out with patches available automatically but they are often very slow at issuing these; no experience if this has already happened.
I have Windows 7 on a 64 bit PC, no issues about FTM. The implementation looks at what system you have and installs the one you need.
