I am an older woman who lives alone. I am on a fixed income. I cannot afford to call a repair person for every little thing.

This book has helped me to understand the different systems of my home. It's easy to read and well indexed.

5.0 out of 5 stars My home repair bible 8 Jun. 2013

I'm an avid fan of the Family Handyman magazines for years. This whole house repair guide is basically a collection of all the relevant articles written in their magazines. So yes many of the recommendations you see are repeats but there were a few I haven't seen before. I love this guide because you don't have to hunt through those many articles looking for house repair tips. Well worth the price for me and I very much look foward to their next print.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great source for all those "DIY" needs in your home 2 Nov. 2013

I subscribed to Handyman magazine for years and gave subscriptions to most family members. Then I switched to the annual books. I am a 75 yr. old female and don't do as many of my own repairs any longer, but my family still love the annual book. This year, instead of the annual book that covers one year of magazine issues, I am giving this book. It is easier to have everything in one book. It has great pictures and demonstrations that anyone can understand.
