Used pc steam code and worked perfectly. I have had all the games from 'Morrowind' on so will be biased when I say it's an excellent game.
PROS - Good Graphics and increased colour from FO3 used in landscape [I prefer colour sharper but that's me]. Dogmeat can't be killed. Settlement construction is a game in itself and plenty areas given to spread your empire. Enormous amount of gameplay and enemy don't level with your character. Never ending levelling up and lots more buildings to enter with info on people's lives before 'the bomb'. Varied side stories and the main story that I have done so far is well written and interesting and is bug free, decent voice actors and recognised some distinctive ones used in 'Skyrim'. Opening up for modding which will add many more choices to change the game to own preferences.
CONS - Bugs are present in a couple of the bigger side missions which halt progress and they should've been fixed but a patch is forthcoming. Settlement building construction can be a pain at times trying to position and there is very little tutorial on how to do it, esp. when given items like conduits and I don't know how they are supposed to be used in the first place. I persevered and used internet for advice and it's becoming enjoyable.
Overall it's a really good game and well worth the money in my opinion as many hours of gameplay. If you liked FO3 and Las Vegas then you will like this as no difference in what's here except your in Boston this time.

Aside from the download ( which took just a few minutes with Virgin's great fibre network), this is a great leap in look and feel to the Fallout landscape. I run a 12Gb Titan X on an i7 5960 with M.2... and it runs perfectly smooth at the Ultra video settings. This seems to be a far more interactive game than fallout 3 with a greater world to explore. I expect to be lost over the coming weeks when the snow arrives.Having played this now for several days, I can say the level of detail is incredible, the landscapes are fantastic. Many of the game features are very similar to Fallout 3, but they go into greater detail and complexity. Quests become more involved and are multi-layered but with a similar goal in each event - Kill the bad guys - . The wide choice of companions is a fresh and welcome bonus to this game, the dog being my favourite... but others can have more fire power to assist in tricky battles.Building communities is a challenge with the limited resources, so recycle EVERYTHING and buy supplies of the roaming traders at every opportunity. It would be useful if the residents however used their own initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do... but hey...!I have found a few glitches, like being unable to sit on a chair whilst wearing armour or on one of the kidnap quests where I can't access a computer door control because of my armour. But I expect these will be fixed by the pending patch.Overall, this is a great game and deserves a place in my top 10... it should be on your Christmas list too.
