Review

"An author on the rise...endearing, emotional, and romantic!"--"Romantic Times"

About the Author

Reviewers from Publisher’s Weekly to Romantic Times have praised Julie Ortolon’s contemporary romance for being “sizzling,” “fast-paced,” and “filled with genuine heart.” Numerous awards for her work include two Bookseller’s Best Awards. Almost Perfect, book one of her Perfect trilogy, was a Rita finalist and was named Best Single Title Contemporary by the readers of Affaire de Coeur magazine.

Julie’s road to success as a romance novelist was a bit bumpier than most authors, however. Her struggle with dyslexia left her functionally illiterate until her mid twenties when she discovered romance novels were worth the effort. To turn her favorite pastime, daydreaming emotionally rich stories, into a career, she taught herself to read, type, and use English as a written language, not just a spoken one. Her struggles made hitting the USA Today list with her first title even more rewarding.

When Julie isn’t writing or reading, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and traveling the world. You can learn more about Julie at JulieOrtolon.com or send her an email. She loves to hear from readers and always answers email.

Rory and Chance get together, there is serious chemistry between these two. But Chance has a prior obligation his family expect him to marry Paige the daughter of very close family friends. The fact that Chance has never dated Paige or spent any time with her doesn't seem to matter as he seems to take this supposed engagement very seriously. So I did not get why he involved himself with Rory if he wasn't expecting it to go anywhere, and why would a bright and beautiful woman like Rory entangle herself with a guy who has a prior commitment. Chance isn't always very nice to Rory either which was another annoyance. As a plot device the engagement was weak. I would have preferred it if there had been a different obstacle between them such as family objections for instance, rather than insult the reader with this other nonsense.
This author certainly has talent but I just could not get past the weak plot. It wasn't as if Paige was all that keen on Chance either so the whole thing was silly.

If you're looking for a fun yet lustful novel then this is it! Falling for you is the first of the St Claire trilogy, featuring the youngest of the siblings, Rory St. Claire and the ever charming Oliver Chancellor. An explosion of passion, a reckless hunger for each other, Rory and Chance have many obstacles to overcome. And its not just the rumours that surround the St. Claire's name thats holding them back... Its a book filled with passion! It has humour, tears, and the way Julie Ortolon brings out her wonderful characters! Its a book not to be missed! Be sure to look up Allison St. Claire in 'Lead Me On', and finally Adrian St. Claire in 'Don't Tempt Me'
An unforgettable trilogy of laughter and passion, with a beautifl history surrounding Pearl Island and wonderful yet heart rendering story telling of a pirates treasure.

I definitely loved this story as the two main characters unexpectly falls for each other even when they hsve obstacles in their way. It is about a girl that requires the help of a banker to gain a loan from the bank to turn a haunted house on a island to turn it into a hotel, but they find out that the two characters actually know each other from the past, but they soon find out that it will find it difficult to get through the process of the project actually is when there is an intense chemistry between them.

I enjoyed this book and went on to buy the rest of the series - it's fun and I totally got the family problems between them - didn't think it was a weak plot as one of the other reviewers mentioned - there are plenty of families that have expectations of their children etc. I liked all the characters we got to meet in ther series and would recommend it!

I found myself reading the book at every opportunity - it's light hearted, fun and I like the history of pearl island - fun and romantic - must have been enjoyable or I wouldn't have bought the other two in the series the minute I finished this!

If an easy romantic read is what your looking for then this is the book for you. A super plot and well defined characters make this a lovely story. It always adds an interesting dimension to a book when you can read both sides of the story, too many romances only portray the poor misunderstood female lead, this book offers an interesting insight into the male characters point of view. I will definitely be buying the second book. Well done Julie!

Oliver Chancellor is a blue-blooded banker whose perfectly orchestrated life plan includes a comfortable career and a socially prominent (if not very exciting) future wife. Then sexy Aurora St. Claire enlists him to help her obtain financing for her dream: turning a mysterious Galveston mansion, which is part of her colorful family heritage, into a bed and breakfast.

Passion ignites over the loan application, but Chance can't see impetuous, earthy and iconoclastic Rory fitting into his orderly existence.

Meanwhile, Rory discovers that she's fallen in love with Chance which she's not ready to admit to this unavailable man.

Only when Chance becomes a partner in the inn and begins to see the emptiness of his glittering future can the couple come together in a happy ending that arrives after just the right amount of drama.

A legend of a long-ago love and haunting runs throughout the book, adding a nice touch of melancholy to a tale as sunny as its Texas setting.

Alright I suppose but only because it was free!
