About the Author
Adam and Rob are the brains behind Magic Spongers, a football blog they created in 2010 and, despite universal concurrence that the age of the blog is dead, they are still running. Under this and other guises including their own names, they have contributed articles to When Saturday Comes, In Bed with Maradona and Run of Play, among others. You can find the blog at www.magicspongers.blogspot.com and some tweets @magicspongers. This is their first book as joint editors.

A shorter book would be much better. There are some well written satisfying nuggets amongst the more similar, repetitive, chapters. Pieces on Plymouth, Linfield and Queen of the South are informative, charming and well written, offering the reader genuine interest and insight. The one on Lewes by Stuart Fuller provides a thoughtful quirky story about how he fell out of love with the Premier League and found joy supporting a non-league club. The chapter on Chester City is well crafted and truly moving.
This book is for the ardent footie freak, rather than the casual sports fan.
Rekindle your love affair with the beautiful game and remind yourself why you fell for football.
Great book with some top class writers (and Alex Douglas)

Easy to read and enjoyable insight into a variety of football levels. Would read a sequel if ever produced. ThanksPublished on 21 Jun. 2014 by JD Croasdell
Excellent book, with a nice mix of both big and not-so-big clubs included. The paperback version is also very nicely producedPublished on 6 May 2014 by AJM
