Falling for Autumn was my first read by Heather Topham Wood. The author made me really tune into the characters pain as if it was my own and I fought alongside Autumn Dorey, relying on faith that she could overcome the stigma and betrayal she faced in her home town of Newpine, which left her spirit wounded as she embraced a new life at Cook University. My heart really ached for her as she was such a sweet and strong character who had her name tarnished by those she called friends, never realising that her naivety could put her life in danger and trap her conscience in shame, reliving the images of the past as nightmares took control and left her questioning her own judgement. The spark between Autumn and Blake when they met was hot, causing butterflies to surface and excitement to bubble as Autumn's survival instincts kicked in to stay clear from Blake Preston, refusing to be held back from a past that did not shape her character or future a resolve which she found weakened as he intruded on her life again and again. I loved the friendship between Autumn and Blake as they both fought off the attraction to protect their secrets and giving up the chance to fall in love freely. Blake Preston was just so sweet, adorable, and gentle I loved his compassion towards Autumn, and his need to have her in his life whilst he fought with his conscience and guilt, together they were an amazing cute couple. This was a beautiful and emotional book entailing the struggles of a young girl, whose innocence and beauty was taken advantage of by her peers, intent to slander her name and reputation as she dared speak the truth and dealt with bullying. Along the way she found a guy who was relentless in his need to protect her, showing her the true meaning of loyalty, friendship and love as she claimed her life back, and took a chance on falling for Blake Preston.

Written from Autumns POV , her story is heartbreaking but yet she had the strength to carry on. Falling from popularity in such a grand style, copying with bullying and cyber bullying Autumn had to leave school to be home taught. What an awful experience she had. Meeting Blake helped mend her emotional state but his secret which I guessed pretty early on is enough to tear her apart once again. They do get their happy ending but with great angst. The story is lovely and enjoyable. The only negative part about the story is in parts near the end it got a bit repetitive. Nevertheless an excellent recommendation.

This book was a great read it was pretty emotional and you really felt for Autumn and the things she had, had to go through. Autumn was the popular girl in school on the cheerleading team hung around with the "in" crowd and had the hot boyfriend to boot she had everything she had ever wanted then one day everything changed and Autumn found herself all alone and been home schooled for her last semester. She moves away from her hometown to attend collage, here she meets Blake at first she try's to keep away from him but they become friends and eventually one thing leads to another and they find themselves falling for each other. But is Autumn's past and future about to collide and if so will she be able to deal with it, move on and find happiness with Blake.
I definitely shed a few tears while reading this book and will be looking out for more work from this author.

Firstly the good news. I quite enjoyed this book and it was well written. However the bad news and the reason it got only 3 stars is because I worked out fairly early on what the big "secret" was going to be but as usual we only got the big reveal at the 85% mark. Making it totally predictable. Had the author managed to surprise me with something totally out of left field this would have been a 5 star book. Unfortunately it didn't happen.

A great read especially for the teenage audience - does contain some sexual situations so would recommend for older teens. Fantastic storyline which keeps you guessing for more - very hard to out down once you have started.

it was a nice read, but a little bit boring. The story dragged at some points and then skipped elsewhere. Slightly predictable but with the genre it is sometimes unavoidable.

Overall it was good for a light read.

Disappointed with this book and I'm glad I got it free. It dragged on and on and was very predictable. The story is about Autumn (obviously) but the book should have been called Winter as it was rather bleak. It is set around high school and the usual story of the pretty popular cheerleader with the good looking hot guy called Blake on this occasion. That became boring as well because all the author kept referring to in the book was how good looking, gorgeous and great to look at Blake was so I felt the whole story was a bit shallow. It could have been so much more but it wasn't for me. I would have liked to know Blake's POV as well because his story was important too but that never happened. But to cut a long and boring story short, Autumn was sexually assaulted by her teacher and the book goes on to tell us how she deals with it and how she meets Blake. There is a shocker in it too but to be honest I guessed what it was half way through. It took to nearly the end of the book for her and Blake to have their sexual encounter and I just felt the whole book was far too tame, long winded and boring for me.
