The positives first; the cover is perfect, the writing adroit and the ideas / scenario genuinely interesting and arresting.
Negatives, too short at 22 (which is actually a compliment in disguise) does not stand-alone as it requires me as a reader to have been keeping up with the rest of the series. Although the denouement is very good and ties in perfectly with the title this still feels like a chapter rather than a short story.
In short, I regret not waiting until the series has been produced and published in one volume.
It is a simply captivating and superb read. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Richard has a unique ability to give the reader an insight into the story. The whole topic is written about in a thought-provoking yet sensitive way. It is a great book overall - very well written indeed.
