This gives a whole new outlook on sirens. Serena is drawn to the water yet she doesn't know why, when she plans on leaving Havenwood Falls it seems that her aunt wants to keep her there for a reason. Though Serena doesn't understand why. With her best friend Nikki acting strange, her mother is not herself anymore something just screams there is a huge secret here but what is it exactly? Will Serena and one of her best friends ever get to leave and study aboard or is there a reason she is to stay here?
For a novella I felt that everything flowed together nicely and nothing was left out. All it did was leave me wanting more of Havenwood Falls! What is going on in this town of supernaturals!
I have to say I am really enjoying this series and it is hard to believe that it is all done by different authors. So it isn't just one author writing about different characters it is different authors which is just too cool. I do believe I will be reading these books because they are just good clean, well written, plot steady stories.
Serena is a siren although she doent know it yet. But with her aunt odette to help her what could possibly go wrong?
An absolutely fantastic read. I loved serena. I really enjoyed this book. It was as though I was there. Would really love to see this as a film or a mini series to see if what they come up with is the same as what I saw. Highly recommended. 5*. Red coat pr.

The foreshadowing was non existent, and adults were annoying. All Serena's conversations went the same "I have to tell you something. We have to talk now." "What is it" "No i can't tell you. You aren't old enough."
Why would an adult keep a secret from someone knowing that by not telling it will only hurt the one they need to tell?
Then the reveal at the end... I was left rereading the last few chapters looking for clues that should have been there leading the reader to think "That makes sense! Can't believe I missed it." but there were any.
I'd suggest skipping this one and reading any of the other Havenwood Falls High books instead.

This book had me from page 1. This book is about Serena and what find out about her and her friend Nikki. In the beginning it starts out that Serena and Nikki are just 2 regular high school girls in their senior year. As the book goes on strange thing start happening to Serena and it is right out freaking her out. Then the Homecoming dance comes around and Serena and Nikki and a couple of human boys decide to pull a senior prank which I had to laugh at because in the prank Serena is dressed like Carrie White in the movie Carrie and I thoughts it was right hilarious because I remember when I first saw the original movie I was thinking of doing the same thing to all the ones who picked on me in High school. Anyway, things went very wrong and Serena couldn’t figure out why some of the other kids were frozen in place and that was freaking her out. BY the end of the book Serena found out why and what she was (But I am not going to tell you that part you will have to read the book to find out). Like I said in the beginning this book had me from page one. That is why this book is getting a 5-star review from me because it kept me interested throughout the whole book and it was captivating and some parts was right funny. THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ. As a matter of fact the whole Havenwood Falls series IS A MUST READ.
Once I was pulled in my the characters, the rest of this novella just flew by, and I was saddened it was over so quickly. I loved the mystery of figuring out what her supernatural ability was and I felt her frustration with all the adults keeping the secret from her. I am about to go look up more books by this author. I am totally hooked.
It was still a very good story, I just thought it could have used a little more.
