I only have a couple of gripes, number one being that the story as a whole seemed quite easy, not predictable, just easy. The second being, it all seemed to just rush. The scenes I felt could have been slightly more in depth, there didn't seem to be a huge amount of drama of angst. I was hoping for more of a confrontation between Jenna, Lacey and Adam but sadly this fell a little short for me. Although I did enjoy this, I was actually never bored, I did feel it lacked some POW! to it. And you need a good bit of POW! to an NA novel otherwise, it becomes the same and a little ordinary.
Julie Particka is however a very good writer, and she writes with a great deal of passion and love for her characters. She managed to write the story that needed to be written, and I would mostly definitely read more from her in the future.
Overall Fall With Me isn't a bad read at all. I would recommend it if you'd like something light and quick with very little drama. I would this is a solid 3.95 stars for me.
After the fab Pretty Souls, Particka has finally came out with a new book. Don't think that it has anything to do with Pretty souls - it doesn't, I'm still waiting for that one. The characters are fun (if a bit dull - Jenna) and the relationship between Jenna and Sutton is real and well written.
I didn't understand Lacey's need to get married just because she's pregant - I mean, it's not exactly a stigma anymore. But she was more than willing to marry a guy she didn't love and was actually well aware of the fact that he's a giant douchenozzle just so she didn't have a child while she was single? I can't understand that and it made her character a bit unlikeable .... well, even more unlikeable since she did sleep with her best friend's fiancé.
Besides that, I really did enjoy this book and was really glad that the author is writing as Julie Particka again. I'm hoping this means more from this alter ego and perhaps .... more from the Paranormal Response Team?
When Jenna's fiancée, Adam leaves her for her best friend, Lacey, she decides to return home to work for her father and set her life back on track. When Sutton, Lacey's brother and the guy that Jenna had the hots for in school picks her up from the train station, she can't deny their attraction for one another. But that needs to be put on hold, first Sutton and Jenna need to plan revenge on Adam and get him away from Lacey, then they'll try at their relationship. Or at least, that was the plan.
I read this book in no time, it was sexy and captivating with real characters that interact in realistic ways that progress naturally. Basically if you like romance then you should most definitely read this book.
There are two main threads of the story of Fall with Me, the first is the romance between Sutton and Jenna, which has been brewing for years via their respective crushes. And the second is the revenge against Jenna's ex, Adam. The revenge wasn't all that complicated, and actually the way that it worked seemed very normal, and exactly what a real life person would do, or maybe just want to do.
The chemistry between Sutton and Jenna was intense, though they weren't without their problems, and that was what made them so likeable as a couple. Plus Sutton took Jenna paintballing, and that is just awesome (and if anyone took me on a date like that it would be awesomer). Also they didn't just jump into bed straight off like what happens in other books.
I really enjoyed Fall with Me, it is definitely worth a read!
