For me it is the only true Christmas song. It made number 2 last time and I think it deserves to go straight to number one.
The melody, the lyrics and the band itself...it has it all. Christmas would not be Christmas without it.
Buy it and you will not be dissappointed!

In several recent UK polls this song has been voted the best Christmas song of all time and rightly so. This song has it all and, amazingly, no one can actually sing it better than Shane McGown.
It's hauntingly brilliant and has stood the test of time. It's re-release is all the more poigniant because Kirsty McCall is now dead. Somehow the pet shop boys beat this to Xmas no 1 in the later 80's. do yourself a favour and buy this CD. You'll never regret it

Soon as you hear this song its Christmas no matter what month it really is .Its such a classic .God bless you Shane and rest in peace Kirsty with a song like this you'll never be forgotten.If you haven't got this get it you'll never tire of it.

BEST CHRISTMAS SONG EVER.
If you do not have this cd in your collection - buy it now, for it truly is the best Christmas song ever indeed perhaps the only true Christmas song - but don't just play it at Christmas - GREAT STUFF

The only song for me that signifies the start of the festive season, stick it in the CD player, crank up the volume and sing along, even my 15 year old daughter knows and loves this one! Can't be beaten in my eyes

Without question the best xmas track ever! Ok I may be baised and a massive Pogues fan, but its like a good bottle of Port it matures with its age getting better every year. It's never made number one (Thanks to the Pet shop Boys etc) but so what, we all know it's Christmas when we hear this blasting over the radio from the startof December.
