This fifth volume of the 'Fairy Tail' anime contains a further twelve episodes of the entertaining series and begins one of its better storylines, the Oración Seis arc.

Before we can get to the main focus of the volume, the first couple of episodes are semi-filler stories. The first of these two episodes (episode 49) deals with the immediate aftermath of the Fighting Festival and has to deal with the imminent arrival of a reporter from Sorcerer Weekly magazine. This was an entertaining episode but it does lose a little importance due to the visit by the reporter being moved from before to after the Fighting Festival arc as in the manga it was the article that the reporter wrote that was the last straw for Lexus and caused him to set the arc in motion. The move just made the event comedic filler. The second of the semi-filler episodes (episode 50) sees Lucy worrying about her love life and Juvia trying out a potion she got from a shady merchant. This episode what some entertaining moments and is at least partially based on a bonus story from the manga but is mostly just fluffy comedy.

Episode 51 sees Lucy's father come turn up again but she still wants nothing to do with him. Despite this however she is still ready to fight for him when she hears he could be in danger. This was a good episode and allows Lucy to show what she is truly capable of when she puts her mind to it and gives here the chance to shine when her friends aren't around.

The rest of the episodes in this volume (52 to 60) cover the beginning of the Oración Seis arc that sees Fairy Tail team up with three other guilds (Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale and Cait Shelter) to take down the powerful Dark Guild.

After waiting almost the entire year for this, Fairy Tail part 5 is finally hear. I am very pleased to say that it dosnt disappoint. Everything about it form the first 4 parts, great visuals, memorable characters, awesome fights are still present along with the beginning of a new story arc that makes me impatient to see how it ends. If you enjoined the First season of Fair tail (parts 1-4) then i Highly recommend this to continue the story

Fairy Tail is a series worth watching. With episode 124 out of the way I thought that I'd better review the others. So, I'm reviewing the entirety of season 3 (Parts 5 & 6); the first story arc that is quite lengthy for Fairy Tail standards, as well as the first filler story arc.

STORY
If you've already watched Fairy Tail so far then you'd know what the story is, and I'm not about to spoil this set of stories, so if you haven't watched Fairy Tail yet I recommend that you do or at least read my previous review on it.
Season 3 kicks off to a decent with a few episodes of building characters, etc. but when the actual story arc kicks off it seems to go in a decent direction. The Oración Seis arc does take up almost the entirety of season 3; it introduces new characters well, as well as bringing back characters from other arcs. The introduction and reintroduction is handled extremely well. I found the new characters interesting right from the word go, and enjoyed all the screen time that they had. The reintroduction to characters I also found interesting for various reasons. At first glance some of the reintroductions, or one at least, seemed a bit cliché but over as the arc progressed I found myself just going with it and enjoying what was brought. The story arc does drag towards the end though, and seemed like that they could have ended it quicker. Though I do think that it just shows how hard the fight is.
The Daphne arc is okay; there really isn't a lot you can say about this story arc considering that it is a filler arc. So far the filler episodes haven't been that bad, and have built on the characters in some or form, but this story arc doesn't really do that. It has its moments but it’s not that great.

Fairy tail is consistently good. Unfortunately the English subtitles are very pixelated. I find this distracting and a strain to read. Why they couldn't have spent an extra couple of quid to do it right is beyond me. I'm using PowerDVD 14. Maybe I am doing it wrong?

It's been a long wait for us here in the UK but more Fairy Tail is nearly upon us and for the first time in the UK it'll be coming to Blu-ray as well as DVD! (Manga Entertainment have confirmed that they'll be releasing the prior episodes on Blu-ray in 2014, so I'm looking forward to adding those to my collection as well.)

The episodes contained in this volume (49-60) will kick things off with episodes getting us back into the flow of things, especially with some character development for Lucy, after the long wait for more episodes. But then the scene for new enemies will be set along with the fact that other guilds come into play. Joining forces with Fairy Tail to take on one of the most evil guilds in the world. Very much looking forward to add this to my collection!

I like the this series. The humour is good and the stories well thought out. It looses the extra star as I noticed that the character drawing seemed to be a bit more simplistic. I enjoyed it, do not regret getting it and intend to continue buying the series.
