This thirteenth volume of the `Fairy Tail' manga consists of three main parts and begins by tying up loose ends from the previous arc in a rather sweet manner before moving on to a very funny couple of chapters about the revamped guild building and a reporter from a famous magazine visiting the guild. This puts things in an interesting place for the final part of the volume, the return of Laxus and his bodyguards, the Thunder God Tribe, who aren't too happy about the reputation the guild has been getting lately.
This volume is the first to be published by Kodansha Comics USA who took over Del Rey at the end of last year but there doesn't seem to be any differences in the style of the volume or the quality of the translation and the volume still includes the usual extras. The storylines of this volume are good if a bit light for the first half but things get better in the second half which sees the beginning of the Laxus storyline which is one of my favourite arcs from the series. There are also a few new characters introduced in this volume who are definitely interesting.
Overall this was an entertaining volume of `Fairy Tail' and I am very much looking forward to reading the continuation of this series.
