I thought this product was really good, it's a good size and perfect for little girls (or boys) to make, depending on their age they may need a little help in placing the stones for the path or getting the house put together but it's a really enjoyable kit to do together with the child.
You just need to add soil and have the kids water & trim the grass regularly. My 6 year old daughter loves moving the fairy round and using her imagination, although the house does fall apart quite easily when the fairy goes indoors. God knows where the little mouse ran off to, unless he's in the soil somewhere.
I think its great value for money and lasts a lot longer than some make it yourself type toys around the same price.

In the box you receive everything you need to create a beautiful living garden including a bowl, fairy figurine, oyster shell, fairy cottage, clothes line with post, pegs and a blanket, carpet for the cottage, grass seed, coloured gravel, mushroom, flowers, fairy dust and an instruction booklet. Everything came packaged really well in the pretty box.

I took all of the pieces out of the box and set about creating the Fairy Garden. The first thing you have to do is fill the bowl with compost or soil from the garden. You need to make sure it is quite flat when full so that the fairy cottage can stand up. Next you need to make up the fairy cottage which is foam pieces you put together. It was a little fiddly and I think younger children would need quite a bit of help to put it together. Once that is done you can start to add all of the other decorations to the bowl. The instruction booklet takes you through where to put all of the decorations, however, you could use your imagination and add extra bits if you wanted to.

When you have all of your decorations in place you sprinkle the grass seed over the remaining spaces and put it in a nice sunny spot to allow your Fairy Garden to grow.

I have placed our Fairy Garden on a window sill and it is doing really well. It needs a tiny bit of water every couple of days, however, after less than a week the grass is already starting to grow.

I really like the idea of the Fairy Garden. It is fun to make and maintain and my children love checking every morning to see how much grass has grown. I think it would make a great gift for children big and small!

I really like the concept of this fairy garden. The garden has been crafted to a high standard and lovingly put together by my child. The main pieces are easily put together and being foam there isn't the worry that it can be easily broken. The garden requires soil, (which is not provided), but everything else is contained within the box.
The instructions are concise and informative and the range is also extendable which is nice as you can start a fairy village to really get the children's imaginations working.
It is really nice to finally see the grass growing and I guess that brings an educational aspect to the toy as well, so 5 Stars.
