However, my excitement soon turned into huge dissatisfaction. The first multi cooker received would not turn on at all. Checked outlets and circuit breakers to ensure it was not our electricity and they were fine. Returned the cooker for a replacement through Amazon with no issues. Actually replacement came very quickly.
I used the replacement a total of 3 times over the next month or so. Although it cooked just fine, the plastic tabs in the pressure valve broke off. Tried to replace again and was told I had to go through Fagor America as the unit was under warranty and it was over 30 days old.
Although Fagor was helpful and offered to replace the valve, the customer service person forgot to call me as promised when it was ready to ship. As we live in an RV, our shipping address changes every week or so. This meant that we had to chase down the piece and get it to where we were currently staying. We put in the new valve easily enough and the first time I used it, it came flying off the cooker and hit the ceiling. Luckily no one was in its path. The same tabs that caused the replacement the first time broke off again.
Once again I contacted Fagor and told them how dissatisfied I was with the product. Now feeling like it was a piece of junk. They would not take it back as they were not retail. Had to go back to Amazon and get a person (It is not that easy to figure out how to talk to a person on Amazon), They refunded the full price and sent a return label for shipping it back without issus.
All in all, very disappointed with the product and would not recommend to anyone.
I made some chicken soup on my first go and - WOW this turned out great. Easy too.
Not too good for split pea soup... maybe it is me but I think the pressure is too much for these... they turned to mush.
I am learning - loads of recipes on pintrest and cooking sites... Plus I can now sell my smaller slow cooker
The valve for the steam / pressure cooker does not come up.
I have to get something to help it come up to seal off so that the pressure will come up.
This began in only 3 months of use... Contacting Fagor for the warranty is a nightmare. I did finally make contact with them and they said they would send me out a new lid. Well it never came. Here I am over a year later and still having the same problem.
This does work though.. .but I am going to look into the Instant Pot - now that I have fallen for the pressure cooker idea I want to spend a little more $$$ and get something with stainless steel
Unfortunately, the 3-in-1 is a real dud of an electric cooker for the following reasons:
Browning - with a realtively small heating element, the 3-in-1 just will not come up to an adequate temperature for browning meats. Thinking I was being impatient, I waited the second time for approximately 15 minutes and the inner pot was still not hot enough to brown batches of meat.
Pressure cooking - It took more than 15 minutes to come to temperature even though I could hear it boiling in the chamber. A series of off, on off, on to try and reset the cooker did not help, which brings me to the third reason why this cooker is such a disappointment …
The lid - who would’ve thought that a company that builds and designs pressure cookers could come up with such a crappy lid design for an electric pressure cooker, but there you have it. The lid acrobatics was enough to make me throw in the towel with this cooker, and continue to look for a decent replacement for my TFal
