The latest in the trio instalment is an essential for any metal/nu-metal/rock fan.
Faceless is undoubtedly Godsmack's greatest album yet.
Godsmack display talent on so many levels in 'Faceless' it is untrue; spectacular riffs, crunching vocals and a dominant drum beat.
This album is truly a breath of fresh air amongst the money grabbing collaborative of bands that are clogging the rock genre at the moment and I find that enlightening.
If you are new to the band or even the genre this album is definitely worth picking up as it is tailor made for people with varied tastes looking for something new.
The band themselves sound like a re-arranged Metallica with jolts of Pantera, Slayer and even Cold.
Definitely worth the purchase, you wont be disappointment – 5 Stars!

I enjoyed reading other peoples reviews on this record and I would like to add whats already been said but please forgive my lack of vocabulary. Well, this is the first Godsmack album I have listened to and I loved it! what a fantastic sound! from the crunching guitars to the passion and anger in Sullys voice this was a very enjoyable listening experience. The best way I can describe the sound is like buildings falling down, riff heavy, explosive guitar sounds, thunderous drumming backed up by a passionate and super intense singer. I can understand the Metallica comparisons posted on here and there are similarities but I think that's a good thing and most musicians borrow sounds from earlier bands etc so I personnally do not have a problem with that. On the strength of this record I have pre-ordered the rest of the back catalogue so looking forward to hearing the rest of the abulms... but I digress. So if anyone out their in the world is reading this and thinking about buying this record I would whole heartedely recommend this album to you especially if you like Heavy rock/Metal/Metallica or just passionate angry music that provides an intense listening experience.

I brought this album on the strength of hearing 'Serenity' by the group, and not knowing what to expect, I initially listened to the album with an open mind.
To me, it seemed that Serenity was only a tiny branch of what Godsmack are capable of successfully producing. There's such diversity and and different qualities to each song, you can't get bored of this too quickly. This is true, right from the adrenalin pumped 'I can take on the world' song of 'Straight Out Of Line' to the soothing sounds of the African Jungle brought to us in 'The Awakening'. There really is something for every mood in this album - hell, I even found myself humming 'I [Enter rude word here beginning with 'F']'ing Hate You' after I lost my job !
I was amazed at how quick people are to judge this band just because of this name. When I tell people that I like Godsmack, you can see their faces change and watch them step back as though I'm the anti-Christ or something ! Don't judge - just listen.
To sum it up, if you're: in the right mood / angry at someone / just need a general good mosh / Want to annoy the neighbours (It's one of those things you just HAVE to have loud) I would highly recommend this album.

I have to say that this one of the best in nu metal/rock metal cd's of recent years. I first took interest to the band when I listened to the end credits of the Scorpian King film a few years back. I loved the song I Stand Alone but never caught the bands name until a friend told me that they were called Godsmack and they made the song.

I bought the album not expecting anything to stand out beyond that song, but was most taken back with the quality of all the other songs and how powerful they draw you in. Great strong vocals and excellent guitar riffs flowing along with medium to fast aggressive drumming.
I think their kind of nu metal/alternative metal but they employ a sound more back to the days of early 90's alice in chains rock/metal with some of the more recent metal bands of Korn and the Disturbed sound. Still great pounding in your face sound but with melody as well throughout the songs.
Strongly worth checking out.

Someone who obviously knows nothing about music has given this album 1 star, i think he or she should go back listening to their Britney Spears records, as this is far to good for them. Any similarities with Alice In Chains stop at the name of the band (it's a classic Alice In Chains song) but they do sound like the mighty Metallica sometimes. Which isn't a bad thing considering that with Metallica releasing some poor albums over the last 6 years (well, poor for their standards), this genre of music needs a new king. It's a superb album with some classic songs such as Realign and Faceless, but in all honesty, every song is a classic. Stop reading this and buy it! Highly recommended.

this album is amazing, still very grunge but with an extra bit of kick to it, something a bit more metal, this album feels like the album that metallica should have after re-load. the song writing is brilliant, big riffs mingle with very catchy rifs and every song has a chorus that will sit in your head for hours.

overall a very impressive package and probably a good place to start.
