Straightaway , we are made to want to know more, to learn of further developments!
Starting off in the brittle, shallow world of the cat-walk this coherent and often witty novel takes us on a journey, culminating at an unexpected and satisfying destination far from where it first begins.
Peri, the main character, plunges from delight to despair and then back again, in a novel which explores the meeting of lifestyles and attitudes. Brodie examines the different personalities of her characters , bringing them to life through vivid description and well-construed dialogue which rings true at every turn.
This book takes you on a journey and Brodie's excellent writing makes the trip well worthwhile!
Worth reading as a light read with hidden depth - especially as I have been lead to believe that "Peri" as a character was based on me - not very flattering.
It was interesting to read about Peri's change of life from being a struggling model to someone whose life values become much more meaningful! Lovely book. Read it!
