Review UPDATE: I use this ring light like 4-5 days a week, and after a couple of months still works fine, everything in order, I think this is important to share with you!

When i buy something I look at the reviews, and this is the reason why i like to make videos and to explain what the products I buy do.
In this case we have a ring light that i am using to record a cooking show, as you can see in the video the quality ofthe light is very good, the cable is long so you can plug it far from location where you want to film. I recommend this to anyone who wants to start or improve their youtube videos.
One thing very important to highlight here, ive been to a local shop in London where a live to see what kind of equipment i need, similar light was £465 so this one for price that you pay, GREAT investment. This is why, i give 5*!

First impressions are good, the light comes in a nice padded case to keep it safe in transit.

I set the light up, mounted my iPhone on the supplied camera mount and hotshoe type tripod head and took a couple of face shots, i was very surprised how good the skin looks when well lit, so much compared to the unlit shot i took for comparison its amazing.

The light has a dimmer control which i’m really glad of, the minimum amount of light it can give is required for close up face shots, any more is too much.

I haven’t tried the orange filters on it yet but they look easy to fit and remove.

Another Great Light to add to yiur Studio Arsenal

We have reviewed many lights by NEEWER and AUKEY, and both have phenomenal quality LEDs they consist of Expensive High-Intensity LEDs that are on a printed circuit Board. Portable Photo Light Boxes contain a Budget LED light that has a flexible board with the type of LEDs you find in Mobile Phone Keypads etc. they are smaller and cheaper to produce these boards are light but perfect to get a light source into a portable device they are not the highest quality at all but small.

So why am I discussing another lighting technology well the FOSITAN Ring Light is a Budget LED Light encased in a unique plastic casing. Whilst Its basically this cheap LED Circuitry that is sat on 4 plates its still been done very well and made it possible lighter. Provided with this kit are 8 clip on Quarter circles that fit over the fronts 4 are in Diffuser Frosted Clear and the other 4 are Diffuser orange however don't leave the orange on this light as it can be confused as a Pelican Crossimg Sign :).

The Stand is great quality, and a folds out to a broad base which is better and a Change from the usual stubby Stands, it also comes with a carry case as does the Main Ring light which is a good thing you don't usually get with Light Stands.

TIP: So mounting a Camera or Smartphine is a little interesting and just takes a little car and planning, the cold shoe mount molded into the Ring plastic isn't that great so you need to ensure the cold shoe is slotted in as far as it can go and tightened down properly.

The kit comes with the usual cheap smartphone grip which is ok but in the long run it's worth investing in the NEEWER Metal Smartohone Mount works so much better and holds phone properly. With a view of using this for DSLR the initial mount provided you could mount it but HIGHLY RISKY its too heavy in my opinion if you are wanting to use for Dslr its with upgrading from plastic ring up to ensure perfect mounfing.

The lighting it has a dimmer underneath which works in gradual stages Dull, Semi Bright and Bright their isnt a great amount of mid control at all in this so a lot of glare lighting, unlike NEEWER Product which has complete control of lighting and high quality.

PROS:
- Cheaper than most Ring lights
- Both the Stand and Main Eimg Light have a Carry Case.
- interchangeable Diffusers Orange and Clear very quick to change.
- Very Bright light

CONS
- Cold Shoe Miount Point not great
- Components for Mointing Smartphone are Cheap so you would need to buy external items
- Not strong enough in present form for DSLR with costly upgrades to mounts.

To conclude the ring Light is a good entry level Light that would be good for a Youtuber or somebody only using a smartphkne, but DSLR its too risky the mount its too light and easily breakable TRUTH UNBOX don't advise it.

Ok I’m just writing a quick review based on first impressions. I haven’t explored every aspect of this.
Build quality: the tripod is pretty solid, which was actually my main concern before buying it. Although one of the rubbers fell off one of the feet first time I picked it up, I just put it back in and put some hot glue for good measure. But it’s solid and I’m really happy with it.
The cold shoe (is that what it’s called?) where you mount the camera is made of PLASTIC (why???) I’ve only attached the camera twice and it’s already getting chewed up. I don’t think that is going to last too long, and I am going to find myself on eBay trying to find a metal one which I can glue to it. The whole housing of the unit where you sit the camera should be made of metal, it really wouldn’t cost much to do, but it isn’t, so that’s a big let down. I don’t know why they use this “hot shoe” design for the camera mount instead of a normal tripod mount arrangement, but I guess a professional would know. Some kind of boom arrangement for the light when using it at a 90 degree angle would have been nice, so you could have it shining over the middle of the table, but I guess you would have to pay more, so knocking some points off versatility.
The lights are really nice, and I already used the 90 degree tilt to photograph documents without my shadow being cast onto the, and that was really handy!
So, stand is good. Lights are good, but not as bright as I thought they would be, I haven’t found a way to dim the, yet but haven’t really looked. The ring is a good size: I wouldn’t go smaller. But the camera mount is bad. Overall I’m happy until the camera mount breaks, and then I’m going to be very angry.
