I bought this case for the Raspberry Pi 3+. As this is the Gen 2 case it has been redesigned so that you can now see the LED lights of the Pi3 / + from the front. This is useful for me when I then use a remote to cut power to the Pi.
The case itself seems well constructed, with no sharp bits or edges. The finish was also good.
The fit of the Pi, takes some thought to get the Pi seated correctly, with a slide in approach, is very good but tight. As long as you do not feel the need to keep removing the PI the nonce it is in then you are good to go.
As I have the new Pi 3+ I found that the thermal pad supplied with the case is for the previous Pi 3 model, too thick, I do believe that they are going to include two pads in future, on the for the older models and then a much thinner one for the Pi3+. I do not know how you are supposed to know that though.
Instead of using a thermal pad I used a thin layer of thermal paste. I removed the Pi3+ to note that the thermal paste had made contact with the heat-sink, on the case lid, and so fitted it back again.
As I have just got the Pi3+ at the same time as using this case I can't say what has given me the lowest temps so far, and probably couldn't do so. The Pi 3 is good but toasty. I did notice that the Pi3+, I tried it without a case at first to make sure it was working, and you can very much see the differences they have made with the newer Pi. It runs much cooler.
Back to the case....
Overall the case looks very sleek and appealing. I am very happy with how it looks on my top, next to the TV (used as a Kodi box) but if the reason you are buying this over the cheap plastic type for the Pi3+ I'm not sure if its fantastic cooling qualities is needed as much as it would have been for the Pi3.
Putting aside whether the cooling properties are needed the same I would have still bought this case. I love the brushed aluminium and black look. I would have preferred a little more wiggle room inside, it does not need to be so very tight.
Overall I recommend this case, just be aware of the thermal pad issue at the time of writing this review if you have a Pi3+.
