When I first picked up this book,I expected perhaps an airplane read.
What I actually got was literature! This book will make you face up to the precarious state of being that we enjoy daily and make you realise that it could just as easily be all blown away tomorrow!
It makes you also realise that there's nothing that can be done about changing things unless a hell of a lot of people read it's warning and do something to change the global mindset.
I'm not going to tell you about the actual contents of the story except to say that you won't be sorry you read it and will probably come away with a completely different outlook on the world and your place in it.
It is a very readable tale and this author has produced something life-changing, or at least mind changing if you let it weave it's magic. Highly recommended.Would like to see a parallel story set in New York or London.Over to you, KDK!

Utterly absorbing and detailed to a bone chilling depth this has had me absorbed into the world of post nuclear Colorado and the struggle of a mother who managed to survive the initial strikes and her journey to collect her daughter.
The novel is written from a fascinating perspective of the survivors, centuries on having formed a religious cult around the nuclear war of 2014 and the people, the few people, who survived it.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.

Different from a lot of other books of this genre. Written well, paced wonderfully, turned the lady into a hero and it was a good read. I would have liked to have seen a follow up but the nature of the book is such that that won't happen. But really enjoyed it.

What a great read. This is a book that is difficult to put down. Kent David Kelly's ability to immerse the reader in the story has given me true insight into the horrors of nuclear holocaust. I look forward to more of his work.

I borrowed this book with very little expectations, how wrong was I? Well i was very wrong from the get go it pulls you in and keeps you under from the first to the last word. The characters the settings and descriptive powers of the author are first class.

Really enjoyed this book - strong woman at the centre and some very descriptive writing about the potential affects of a nuclear blast. Highly recommend
