If you use a knife to crush garlic with the flat of the blade, slice chicken on the bone, cut frozen foods, drop the knife on the floor or poke about with a twisting fashion and then want to chuck it in the dishwasher and then into a draw full of other knives and stuff when you are finished at the end of the day, or worse have a habit of cutting oneself whist slicing, then these knives are NOT for you!!
However, if you want a VERY sharp knife (These were based on a freshly honed steel blade) then you won't be disappointed.

I didn't notice too much of a difference cutting an onion but slicing soft vegetables (eg peppers) soft fruit and meat, you will notice the difference right away. It takes no effort at all.
They are light, well balanced and look good.

At the end of the day I just rinse them under hot water and towel dry them, then, importantly, put them back in the box they came with. You don't want anything hard touching the ceramic blades as they can chip. Alternatively you can use a knife block.

The blades are pure ceramic (Zirconium) and not steel blades coated with ceramic, as you get with the cheaper ones. I would guess that these are as good as the more expensive Japanese ones.

How long will they stay sharp - I don't know, as I haven't had them long enough - but I would imagine long enough to see if you need an expensive sharpener.

I don't mind the above inconveniences as I have enough steel knives around to abuse food, but I wanted a very good slicing, chopping and paring knife.

These knives suited me perfectly and I'm very happy with them, especially after my pre purchase jitters, as I have never owned a ceramic knife.

I bought the set for my boyfriend and he started cooking more. It is very easy to slice and dice but be very careful as even the slightest touch to your fingers might cause a cut. Definitely recommend!

I am qualified in cookery so I can discern the benefits using ceramic knives can have on your prep work and other kitchen prerequisites. These blades are made of a lightweight zirconium ceramic, very close in sharpness to diamonds and several times stronger than standard steel blades, offering you the ultimate sharpness for significantly longer compared to the standard steel blades. Ceramic is chemically inactive and incapable of rusting making it more hygienic as it will preserve the freshness of your food, without the discolouration or smell that steel blades frequently cause.

The Feinzer knife set comes presented in a beautiful sleek black presentation box that would not look out of place in a professional or home kitchen. Contained within are three knifes; Paring blade, Utility blade and a Chef's blade. The length of the blades are approximately: 9.5 cm, 12 cm and 14 cm. The blades are 100% ceramic, not just a ceramic coating and the handles are resin coated.

These knives make light work of fruit and vegetable prep work, they slice and dice wonderfully and are excellent for precision work. They also work great on boneless meat joints (bones may chip/damage your knives). As these blades can chip or be damaged easily it is advised not to use them on a hard work surface/chopping board such as stone, marble and glass. As with any professional knife, I would not recommend dishwashing, it is best to hand wash them.

I am very impressed with these blades, they are extremely sharp and will stay that way for a long time to come, should you ever need to sharpen them with a high quality blade sharpener specifically for ceramic blades. They are made to a very high quality with an extremely balanced and comfortable handle. These will last you an extremely long time if you are provided you are with them. I would definitely recommend this set!

These ceramic knives are absolutely brilliant. I already owned a ceramic knife which I thought was good, but stupidly snapped the tip off using it to open a lid - so decided to treat myself to this set and I am delighted with them. So much better than my previous knife these are excellent value for money. Handles feel good in your hands and are non-slip. Blades are incredibly sharp so take a lot of care when using them - they make swift work of cutting through meat or fish as well as vegetables. Make sure you don't use them with a marble or granite chopping board or you will blunt or damage the blades. Some people have said they are difficult to get out of the packaging but I haven't found that at all (it's a kind of tight foam packing with small finger holes to help you grasp the handles). If people did find it awkward I guess the trick would be not to push the handles down in to the foam too far. Can't recommend these highly enough.

I'm blowen away with the quality of these knifes. At first I thought some of my other metal knifes were sharper but I was gladly wrong. I tried peeling an apple to see if it went brown as metal knifes cause fruit like pineapple, pears, apples and other fruit to go brown almost immediately but with these puppies that did not happen and I know eventually the Apple will go brown regardless of what material your knifes are made from but the only bad thing I can think of is after years of use you will have to sharpen these knifes and you can do 1 of 2 things, you can send them back to Feinzer to be re-honed and resharpened or and this is the difficult one, try and find a ceramic knife sharpener (not the ceramic knife sharpeners used to sharpen steel blades) with a diamond sharpening tool or wheel which in all likely hood will cost you an arm and a leg. But all in all I'm 100% satisfied with there performance and design and I also 100% recommend purchasing them, if you are just glancing over the knifes buy these and I know you will be over the moon with them like me oh and a TIP the finger slots in the box that they come in are very small so it's much easier if you cut and widen them as this will reduce the chance of you damaging them due to trying to free them all so only use them on a WOOD chopping board as metal, plastic, glass, marble will break the blades curing edge and alwase hand wash them, never just chuck them in the washing bowl or store them with steel knifes or utensils as this will also damage them. JUST GO FOR IT YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED !!!
