Bought this book before my trip to Myanmar.
What I liked : Lots of pictures, which gave me an idea of places to visit. Basic information about the main tourist attractions.

What I did not liked: It lacked further information about places and even though there were maps in the book, they were not very detailed and only covered the main areas, but for example not the bus stations on the outskirts of Yangon. It did not really helped during my travels and left many questions, which I then had to research online, pretty hard in a country were the internet is really slow.

Would only recommend this book to people who have planned the whole trip before hand and just want to read a little bit during the trip. For individuals who like to change plans during holidays and looking for information on the road I would not recommend this book.

Although published in 2014, I am just back and many recommendations, comments on what you can or can't do are already out of date. There are ATMs in all large cities and they work, for instance. Many things can be paid in local currency, not just in dollars. Descriptions of sites and cities are excellent, true to the DK brand.

It is a handy up-to-date guidebook, with day trips, walks, maps and phrase book.

We have found the guide very informative whilst here, especially the section on Began.
The pictures and diagrams showing all the different types of stupas is really good.
Recommend for anyone visiting this very interesting country that is going through many changes at present.

Clear, easy to read travel guide. I love DK books. Although sometime a little more expensive that others, I think they are well worth it if you are a "visual person" and like to see street plans and photos when planning a trip.

Having just used this to travel through Myanmar I would say look for something else. It is inaccurate and out of date.
Nice to look at if you are not going to Myanmar!
