I really like this brand for travel books as I find the info very accurate and lovely to use but i didn't think the pocket book would be of the same standards, how wrong I was!
I have travelled around Copenhagen for a long weekend and used the whole book. I don't know about the older editions but this one was extremely accurate in terms of opening hours, the maps and the info. Like most books of this kind it might talk a bit too much of something you are not so interested in and not enough of others places that blow you away, but that's common. There's sooo much you can do there that is difficult to pick and choose. I would recommend people to visit at least the Carlsberg art museum, the botanic gardens and one of the main palaces (all this tree places are very beautiful and very different, there're way too many palaces of the same style..), wander the city center, go to the bars by the canal and do a boat tour to see a bit of everything in one go.
This guide book is so light and the size was perfect for my handbag, I also attached a little pen to it so I would mark things on the go.
Before buying it I was a bit worry about the maps not being easy to read but I didn't have a problem (and i don't have 20/20 vision:), I think some older people might find it a bit difficult but don't be put off by this because you will be able to read it, also you can get free detailed maps everywhere.
The pictures are beautiful and the book is very well organise: The first hour I enjoyed reading through over a coffee and marked things to do on each area and interesting routes to take so to not waste any time.
There's also a section about day trips you can do to other great areas, so if you have the time go for it!
I have used this brand of travel books before but from now on if I need just a city edition or I go for a short break I will definitely buy the pocket version!!
Where this fell down was lacking enough good information to allow us to choose well where we wanted to go and compare venues. The typeface was just too small to make it comfortable for us to read (and we're not that old!). Sometimes less really is less!
