Probably about 6 months too late for Peter Jones, but for anyone else who's wondering:
* Hectic Danger Days: The Making of Alpha Papa - making-of featurette (35 mins) * Deleted Scenes - 21 deleted and extended scenes * Bloopers - (5 mins) * Audio Commentary - with Steve Coogan and writers Neil Gibbons and Rob Gibbons
The film is being released on Blu-ray in America in a few days time (June 10th 2014) - rebadged as just "Alan Partridge" - but UK Partridge fans needn't worry about that because it looks like the US disc is inferior to ours in a lot of ways. It's a 25GB disc, whereas ours is 50GB. It only has the DTS-HD 5.1 audio, whereas ours also offers LPCM 2.0 and an audio-descriptive track. And most of the extras have gone AWOL: there's also no audio commentary, no deleted scenes, and no bloopers - just the Making Of.
As far as I can see, the only things it offers that the UK disc doesn't is something called "Behind the Scenes" (I'm guessing they've just split the Making Of featurette into two parts) and a US TV piece designed to get American viewers unaware of the UK TV shows up to speed on who Alan Partridge is.
Certainly nothing there that's worth a double-dip - and it's being released by a label (Magnolia) that region-locks its Blu-rays, so most of us here in the UK wouldn't be able to play it anyway. (Unfortunately for any US Partridge fans who are now eyeing-up the superior UK Blu-ray, our disc is also region-locked the other way)
