Exposed: Laid Bare is all those things and more and will leave you with a book hangover, desperately hunting out the next in the series.
Dahlia may be in her mid-twenties but this shy photographer isn’t used to being in the spotlight to being anyone’s centre of attention for that matter. She likes her life behind the lens.
But tasked with taking photos of the reclusive Lucien Chambers she wasn’t to know that her world was change more than she could have ever imagined.
Lucien, has it all, money, power, success, prestige and acclaim but there is something else that draws you to this character, his charm, his enigmatic aura means that the mystery surrounding him had me completely hooked almost from the second his name appeared on my kindle screen.
When Dahlia meets him, the pull is electric and the effect he has on her is powerful. He brings out a side of her that even she didn’t know she had but one that she can fully embrace.
But is the feeling mutual or is she no more than a means of amusement for a man with nothing more interesting to distract him?
As with all good mysteries and I do think of this as being a mystery in some respects, very little is given away!
There was an undertone to Lucien that I haven’t felt with another character for a long time, his personality and power was written with such acumen that it was just enough to entice and intrigue but not quite enough to illuminate.
This man plays well in the shadows! The question is, will he continue to play alone!
Dahlia Vaughn is hired to photograph the elusive Lucien Chambers. There is something alluring about the sexy billionaire, otherworldly even and Dahlia can’t say no. She’s in for a night she’ll never forget.
Even though Exposed is a novella, it’s on the shorter side of an average novella and I felt if it were longer, the paranormal aspect could have been explored further and strengthened. As I was reading the intimate scenes between Lucien and Dahlia it read almost tongue in cheek to me and left me wondering if this was the intention or not.
Exposed is a quick read and will be enjoyable for many, I was just looking for more detail and world building. The story isn’t over so perhaps this will come in future books.
If you are looking for something light and easy to read with a twist then this one is for you. ~Ava
*I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.*
This is a short novella series and this is the 1st part. Dahlia is a 26 year old photographer and she has no experience with men. She is hired to photograph the hot, rich, handsome and mysterious Lucien Chambers. The instant chemistry and connection between them really can be felt. We know this is paranormal but we don't know yet what exactly Lucian is?
I really enjoyed this start to the series, this is a quick, exciting, hot and steamy read which will leave you eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Another brilliant book
If your looking for a quick read that has everything you need to swoon then this is for you
I personally loved it..its different from s r s others books and it will keep you turning the pages storyline and character's are written so well I didn't put it down until I had finished it.. I cannot wait for volume 2.. worth more than the 5 stars I can rate in my view. .well done s r... rhiannon
I couldn't connect with the characters and their dialogue was stupid. Please don't ruin what you have already succeeded either in the inevitably book. It seemed to have been rushed with no thought. Not a good example to start a series.
