About the Author

John was born in Southern England. After finishing his education in London and with three qualifications, he spent many years in the Chemical Industry, which took him to destinations throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. The frequent and long flights gave John's interest in writing a chance to grow first with technical presentations at both national and international conferences around the world, and then later developing story lines for his novels. John moved to the USA in August 1998, arriving in Tampa, Florida. Tampa continues to be his home, where he lives with his wife, Cristy, and their two dogs. When asked about life, John states: "I have been lucky enough to travel around the world several times. To me, travel is knowledge. Where you go, and who you meet makes you who you are. My family, extended family, friends - all of them - makes this chapter in my life so meaningful. I am excited to embrace all the chapters still to come!" http: //www.authorjohnphillips.com/ https: //www.facebook.com/authorjphillips/?fref=ts https: //twitter.com/authorjphillips

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read 16 Jun. 2009
By Franklin L. Kirksey - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
"The John Phillips Commentary Series presents the accumulation of a lifetime achievement from this gifted man of God. His association with Dr. Stephen F. Olford and Dr. Jerry Vines substantiates his high view of Holy Scripture. His affiliation with the Moody Bible Institute further illustrates his attestation of Biblical inerrancy. His application of the Bible text demonstrates his strategic grasp of God's Word. His alliteration will endear him to preachers and teachers everywhere. I wholeheartedly recommend it!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Exploring the Gospel of Mark: An Expository Commentry 26 Nov. 2005
By Tim Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I plan on purchasing the entire Commentary Series by John Phillips. His writing style is very informative and there are so many wonderful "Nuggets" that he shares with you. He goes behind the Scriptures to bring out so much REVELATION!!! What he writes is true to the text and he uses "Scriptures to Interpret Scriptures". He shares useful illustrations that help to make the text relative. His Outlines are wonderful and the way he breaks each Scripture down satisfies the soul of anyone who "Hungers and Thirsts after Righteousness. I know feel confident when I share this Glorious with others.

By Thomas J. Bastoni - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Great commentary by Phillips that will help you as a teacher to get a clear view of the passage you are studying. Easy to understand and yet technical enough to make the passage clear. I hope to add all of Phillips books to my library.
