In The Expendables 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face- to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables, but Barney has other plans. The film has a truly explosive beginning as a four-man team led by 'Barney Ross' (Sylvester Stallone) set about
releasing an old-pal 'Doc' (Wesley Snipes) after he's spent several years in captivity.
'Barney' needs the action-loving 'Doc' to join his team of Expendables on their next mission.
'Lee' (Jason Statham) 'Gunner Jensen' (Dolph Lundgren) 'Toll Road' (Randy Coulture) 'Caesar' (Terry Crews)
along with 'Barney' 'Doc' and piloted by 'Trench' (Arnold Schwartzenegger) head for the docks at 'Mogadishu'
After a fierce fire-fight a face from the past emerges 'Stonebanks' (Mel Gibson) who 'Barney' had believed he'd
killed long since.
After fighting their way of the Docks, 'Barney' realizes his task is by no means concluded as a former partner turned

It's been a month since I saw this, and for a film loaded with action stars, I'm struggling to remember any truly standout action sequences. The whole film is over-the-top and dramatic, but it feels overly familiar and obvious.
As the original gang, all of the returning cast are good fun, and the new additions of Snipes and Banderas are very amusing and flashy. The addition of younger stars does feel like a gimmick, but they hold their own. However the action sequences are now starting to feel tired. All of them have the feeling of 'how can we blow something up?' and you have to wonder how a team this bone-headedly stupid have lived long enough for a third movie.
Ironically, for a man considered a Hollywood pariah, Mel Gibson's scenes (barring a boring mis-step at an art gallery) are the ones that bring the film to life. Almost every appearance of his character improves the movie with charisma, action or snarling dialogue.
I love a good action movie, and loved the first 'The Expendables', but with every new iteration, the films are degenerating closer to the direct-to-video roots that many of the actors are trying to escape from - and I can't help feeling that without a dramatically more inventive part 4, this may well toll the end of the road for the series.

Out of all the " Expendables" movies, I like this one the best. The movie starts with exciting, pumping action. The language is clean, other than one "f" word, compared to the part 1 and 2 of the expendables. This one can be watched by the whole family and enjoyed more especially if you have a surround sound system. It has Dolby Atmos which fills the room with sounds that puts you as if you are in the action. The story line is good as it keeps you guessing at times as to what happens next, and the unexpected happens. It has many popular actors in it mixed with moments of laughter.The transition is smooth from action to action. I hope there will be a part 4 as this is a movie you can watch over and over again, and not get bored. Happy viewing.

Great popcorn fun - but lacked something the first two films had. The formula was of course the same but there was a slight lack of cohesion probably caused by the new, younger additions who really didn't provide any real fun or interest. In reality the Expendables relies on that knowing nod to the old guys and their films and without that you simply end up with a reactively generic actioner. In all fairness a very well created one with plenty of explosions, shoot outs and general violence.

But - it only really worked when the old and increasingly craggy looking oldies rocked up and pressed the fun button.

Overall though an easy way to while away a couple of hours without any brain power required.

I read other reviews and other people say all 3movies are bad. Not for me This is a movie with the real actors. example Syl,Arnold,Dolph, Wesly, Antonio and Harrison. All the new actors/actresses are rubbish compared to the 80's giants.1 thing I can't quite get my head around is why is Ronda Rousey in the film? She can't act for toffee!!!For me there are 4 stand out actors in the film: Antonio,Ford, Gibson and Snipes. SNIPES DELIVERS THE BEST ACTING.. If you are a fan of the 80's actors it a must buy!!!

P.S Gibson and Snipes should make new solo movies of their own now. Since they haven't done any movies in a while.
